So I was worried after I bought this that it wouldn’t be padded enough based on others reviews. I really like it! My daughters bed is a foam firm mattress (with a little built in topper) that we had an additional topper on and it was just too squishy and hot. I was looking for a thinner topper and came across this mattress pad. It is not “just a mattress pad” as many people state. At least I’ve never had one this thick! It’s realistically 3/4 of an inch thick. Puffed up quickly when i cut the sealed vacuumed packaging. Not as thick as the picture but much cozier than a mattress pad. I think It’s gonna work for our needs. If it flattens out I will update my review. I may possibly buy a 1 in memory foam to go under it but it is so much better than the mattress alone. ... show more

I purchased several of these mattress toppers when I attempted to purchase new mattresses from a well known mattress company and their spotty estimated delivery date went from 3 weeks to 6 weeks and no guarantee of delivery. Two of these mattress toppers were used on traditional beds and 2 were used on foam mattresses. Disappointed that I was not receiving new mattresses I thought to check trusty-ole Amazon for a solution. Took 1 day to get these delivered, (early afternoon arrival too!) I installed one topper immediately on a bed and WOW what an upgrade! Soft, cushioned comfort - so reminiscent of times passed when mattresses used to be made soft/firm not just FIRM/FIRM. Would definitely buy again and recommend to anyone who needs to upgrade their bed because it takes months if not indefinitely to get an actual overpriced mattress delivered to you from a mattress company. ... show more

so... without the pad i was waking up with painful joints...real painful. but after changing positions and going back to sleep i was ok. After putting the pad on no more painful joints but, by halfway throught the night my back is aching and killing me. Its like it took all the stress off my joints (hard body parts) and moved that stress to the soft tissue...(lower/mid back). This is worse because then my back aches all day. I tried this bamboo mattress protector, which is soft and quilted, and find that I rest easier with it. While it does not take the place of a sturdier foam mattress, topper, it is more comfortable than the mattress alone, and is very protective of the mattress itself.
