This is the softest mattress pad we've ever owned. It does act like a pillow-top mattress but not as puffy as that. It's a good in between if you are looking for the softness of a pillow-top but not the bulk or height of a pillow-top. 40% bamboo - claims it is cooling... isn't really. In fact, it makes it a bit warmer due to the pillowy construction. I am not sure if this is legit 40% bamboo or not. We have bamboo sheets which do a nice job of keeping you cooler but again, those are thin and this pad is a lot thicker. I would say great value for the money if you are looking for overall softness and comfort/relief from a stiff mattress. Beware that due to the puffy nature this creates a bit of shelf at the top of the bed near the headboard so pillows will crease at the bend of that shelf. I love this topper!!! It is buttery-soft, very comfortable and keeps you cool. I can be under the covers all night and the space next to me is cool to the touch. I gave five stars despite my 2 issues with it because of how much I like it. The first problem is the side and corner pockets are not nearly as tight as they should be. They’re deep which is awesome, but the lack of stiff material on the sides let’s the topper slide a little bit. My second issue is the topper is missing about 2 inches on each side to fully be a queen size. If you have a full bed, order the queen size. Other than that it’s great. It has held up well so far, I haven’t washed it yet since I sleep with sheets over it of course. No weird smell when it came out of the package and it fluffed up nicely. This topper is great and comfy. I’m a hot sleeper and this is pretty cooling or at least doesn’t retain heat like memory foam products. It seems to be made from good quality material. There was no weird smells when I opened it either which is a nice change from most bed bedding products I’m used to. I was hoping it would have been a little thicker , maybe an inch or two thicker . It went onto the mattress very easily and held secure with the elastic band . That being said it is still a great value and worth the money and would purchase it again in the future if I need another one . ... show more

This topper is comfortable although it does move around a bit. It does stay fitted around the mattress however. I think it helps keep you cool a bit, definitely doesn't make you hotter. I bought it because I'd just bought an extra firm mattress and needed something for a little softness. I've had it for 6 months now and I definitely think it's worth the money. Instead of buying a new mattress I had a brilliant idea of just putting a topper on it to be more comfortable.
