At first I thought it to be just a thicker mattress cover. It actually gives a slight pillow top feeling without compromising the support I needed from my mattress. I have major back and hip pain and haven’t had a good night sleep for some time. This pad has made a difference. I’m still not sleeping though the night, but I’m definitely sleeping much better! FYI, you do not feel hot at all like one does with the gel memory foam. And I can say this as I had bought 2 in the last 2 months and have returned both as they do not provide support and I slept or lack there of very hot.     • Excellent Short-term Solution to Cheap Children’s Mattress

Initial Impressions: 1 week First, the conditions of use for this mattress pad. We got them for my two sons, who are 8 and 6 years old, and who are 66 lbs and 49 lbs, respectively. Their mattresses are twin size, and are cheap, for bunk beds. The 8 year old started to complain about the comfort of the mattress, as they’re a standard spring and box design found in common mattress made for children. They provide little to no support, especially as a child grows. I purchased these as a stop-gap, until we find it necessary to purchase new mattress when the boys are much older. They come in the package surprisingly NOT smelling too much like plastic, and were washed according to the instructions. After making the bed with the pad, I can tell you, that even I felt an incredibly significant change in comfort. For reference, I am 6’00”, 215 lbs. I did not spend a night on them, but I certainly can tell you it was drastic. I was certainly tempted to take a short nap on them as the kids were watching a movie! They didn’t make much sound, if any. I asked my son after a few sleeps if he noticed any ‘crumpling’ and he had no idea what I was talking about. The 8 year old LOVES it. The 6 year old does as well, but he wasn’t complaining as much to begin with. I see this improving the sleep quality for a while, and our sons will certainly put these to the test in the upcoming months. In all, very pleased, as a parent who looks for inexpensive solutions for problems that can quickly become too expensive. I had purchased some mattresses for my kids from Amazon about a year ago. They were pretty comfortable until they weren’t, so I was looking for something to supplement that. I purchased this XL as it was cheaper than the normal twin and it still fits under my kids sheets. I just smoosh it up into the middle. This topper is very soft, and comfortable! It isn’t super thick but it does actually make a big difference when put on the hard mattresses and my kids are sleeping better.
