The media could not be loaded. I simply love this product. It is simplicity itself to set up and get working. I was able to do it in less than five minutes. The tiny motor and submersible pump has an on-off and level setting for the water flow rate. This water feature can be set up in any container that can hold at least 5" of water.     • The bowl has to be PERFECT
This does NOT come with the nice bowl it is shown with. No problem says me - I've lots of bowls to work with....yeah, right. I've exhausted my supply - none fit right, the bowl is to shallow, or the bowl is too wide, or it's not deep enough and so on. I have spent way too much time looking for a bowl that will work with this water fountain. The fountain is top heavy so it has to have just the PERFECT amount of overhand on each side of the bowl, etc, etc. The bamboo fountain part works great - just nothing to put it on. I am $40+ poorer and have a fountain that I can't enjoy. I would NOT buy it again and I would NOT recommend it unless you have the bowel it is pictured with! ... show more

I ordered the 7" size. I experimented with different types of round vessels (ceramic, resin, galvanized steel and stone) with varying diameters, and I ended up using a stone pot that is 7.5" in diameter and 8" tall. It works perfectly. The product description says it is for use on the edge of 6" to 15" diameter containers, but I found that it did not work well with the smallest or widest diameters. When I tried using it with a 6.5" diameter pot, the stream of water (even though it was on the lowest flow setting) overshot the rim leaving me with a puddle of water to mop up. When I tried using it with a galvanized steel bucket with a top diameter of 12.5", it just didn't seem stable. I did not try it with any square-shaped vessels. As to the sound, I found that it did not vary much among container types. The sound was good with all. A tip: When I first plugged it in, it didn't work; but somewhere I read that unplugging it and plugging it back in a few times would solve the problem, and it did. In addition to the soothing, tranquil sounds, an added plus is that the fountain has attracted lots of songbirds to some newly placed feeders on my apartment balcony. I am very happy with this fountain and would not hesitate to buy another. UPDATE: These pictures reflect how the fountain looks 4 weeks after purchase. The bamboo is turning black and green, and I am afraid to even touch it. The spout is literally crumbling away. I contacted BambooAccents (as they request you do before returning). I had been looking for a real fountain for years. I kept wasting my money with fountains that were barely audible but then I saw this and gave it a try. I am more than happy. One I do NOT hear the motor. Ever. Second, I really hear the water and ONLY the water. And third I can use my own bowl. For now I am using a ceramic salad bowl but will go and buy a deeper bowl. One thing to be aware of when you purchase, the manufacturer sells some made for shallower containers, and others like the one I bought better fitted for deeper containers. This makes a difference, because water may be splashing around, depending on how your bowl fits. I plan to buy a second one to put in my bedroom at night. For now, since I do not have the right bowl but still want to use it, I put a tray underneath the bowl to catch some of the water. Cannot recommend it enough!!! ... show more

The item was immediately returned because it did not work properly. I purchased it for a small table fountain. You should know that the item is ONLY the pump and does not include the basin. We used a shallow basin and it was fairly easy to set up but failed to pump water. I also thought it was very unstable for a pump and set up, esp. if you have animals or kids running around. ... show more

I love this little fountain kit. It allows me to make an affordable fountain tailored perfectly for the space I want it in. Another reviewer tipped me off to the ability to alter the tone of the fountain by placing various stones and shells in configurations where the water hits. It's really interesting to hear the various sounds that different stones and shells make when the water hits them. The fountain is beautiful to look at and relaxing to listen to. I am rechecking the reviews to see what people have said about keeping the water fresh, as I am getting a little slime. I need to work with that, but trust I will find a solution. This is a GREAT PURCHASE. Once I get the water slime matter understood, I will definitely be ordering more fountain kits. ... show more
