  • Great running shorts
I've run in Nike and Under Armour running shorts, but these Baleaf are my new favorite and I've purchased two additional pairs. The Balief shorts are light, dry fast, and the zipper back pocket is perfect for long runs. I've never liked putting my keys in the side pockets of my running shorts, because I'm always afraid they'll bounce out and I won't notice. The back zipper pocket on these let's me focus on my run without worrying about losing anything important, and I can use the side pockets for energy gels. They are also really comfortable. The material feels soft and doesn't chafe. Great shorts! ... show more

  • They're amazing! You'll definitely be ordering more.
Color: Black Size: Medium
I generally like shorts that are slightly above the knee, but I'm not someone to wear short-shorts. When I look for running or workout gear, I find that this can sometimes be an issue as most things I find at the big-name athletic stores are either knee-length or extra short. To that end, I was very happy when I found these as they appeared to be a good compromise in length. But there's so much more good to say about them than just how long they are. I purchased these for working out but after receiving them, I found myself grabbing them to wear around the house, go running, workout, do yard work, and anything else I would normally wear shorts for. They're my go-to, and I wait for them to come out of the dryer so I can wear them again. The material is nice and breathable and has some good stretch to it so it never feels confining. Same goes for the waistband, which is snug and doesn't let the shorts slip down while also not strangling your waist or causing red marks. The pockets are a good size, and the back pocket with a zipper is great for running. My iPhone XS Max with a thin case on it is a tight fit, but it does go in. The only thing I would say to consider about these is the mesh liner. Personally, I like it. The leg bands and overall fit are snug without being overly tight and do a great job keeping everything in place. But I'm also a guy that likes to wear briefs as my everyday underwear so I'm used to that sort of feel. I have worn these over boxer briefs and compression shorts, and the fit was still fine. But if you're someone who likes to go commando or wear loose boxers, just be prepared for a little confinement down there. Overall, I would highly recommend these. I ordered one pair initially and will definitely be purchasing more soon. ... show more

  • great quality, great value
Color: Royal Blue Size: Large
These shorts are great. I'm a marathon runner, and have traditionally used Nike or similar running shorts. My requirements for running shorts are that they must be light, use quick-dray fabric, have a soft-material inner liner for securing key body parts, and have pockets to store a key etc. I decided to give these BALEAF shorts a try, given the much lower price that those other name brands. After trying them, I was pleasantly surprised and very impressed. They have just as much quality as the running/athletic shorts I traditionally bought but at a much lower price. Since buying 1 pair of BALEAF and being completely satisfied with the quality and value, I've returned and bought more. I now own 5 pairs of BALEAF shorts (in 5 colors), and I highly recommend them. ... show more

  • Outstanding value and a great warm-weather short!
Color: Gray Size: Large
I basically ordered these shorts on a whim; I am not a high volume runner, but I do get out 4-6 days per week, and know what I want out of a pair of shorts. I was simply browsing men's running shorts, and the Baleaf brand kept popping up, so I assume that it is an Amazon-owned brand. They look sharp and for less than $20 if figured I would take a flyer. I basically had zero expectations coming in, so I have been very happily surprised. My other running shorts are all The North Face, Under Armor, or Saucony, and are all in the $40-$50 range when I purchased them (Some have been around for a long time!). First off, these shorts look great. I got a charcoal gray color, and with the black panels and black piping they are sharp. I have gotten in several runs in them in temps in the low 80s to low 90s, and they are really thin, cool, and impressively quick drying. The liner is comfortable and does not ride up my crack like a few others I have had over the years. The pocket in back is great for a key some cash/credit card, and a gel, but I couldn't get my Galaxy S10 into it, and I doubt that it would have really been supportive enough to run with if I did manage to wedge my phone in there. As far as durability is concerned, these have been through a few run/wash/dry cycles, and I may be seeing some wear lines, but I can't tell for sure; I will definitely have to update my review later on. A couple observations: Unlike my TNF and UA shorts, the material itself is not inherently stretchy, rather Baleaf uses triangular stretchy mesh panels on the sides to give the short some flex and added breathability, and it totally works. Also, in addition to the rear zippered pocket, there are two traditionally-place hip pockets on the shorts like jeans or sweatpants might have. I am not a huge fan of these pockets as I can't really trust them with a key or money, so I would prefer that they are either left off entirely or give a zipper. One last item of personal preference: The drawstring on these shorts is internal, as are I would dare say, the majority of athletic shorts drawstrings. I would prefer an external drawstring as I have occassionally experienced some uncomfortable rubbing in sensitive areas with the drawstring tucked inside the liner. Overall opinion: Great shorts so far! These have quickly become my second favorite shorts (and favorites for a really warm day) behind some Sauconys with a slightly better pocket arrangement and a longer-legged liner which I have come to find I really like! ... show more
