Bahco 665 Premium Ergonomic Carbide Scraper, 2-1/2 The Bahco premium ergonomic carbide scraper is intended for heavy- duty applications and is ideal for wide material removal when extra strength is required. The long-lasting carbide blade allows you to scrape wood, metal and concrete, quickly and efficiently removing paint, glue, varnish, rust, and more. The 2-component handle gives you better grip and added comfort; the slim-lined front end gives you increased scraping access when working in confined spaces. This scraper also features a large plastic knob for more comfortable two-handed operation, making it a great tool for heavy duty use when scraping large areas. This scraper comes with a 2-1/2-inch replaceable blade and also readily accepts 2-inch blades. The tool measures 12-1/10-by-4-2/5-by-3-1/2 inches (LxHxW) wide. This scraper comes with a holster for convenient pocket or belt storage and is backed by a lifetime limited warranty. Never thought I'd write a rave review about a paint scraper. But I love this thing--and I hate scraping. I've done painting professionally but these days work mostly restoring my old farmhouse--I'm working on the exterior at the moment and was looking for a scraper that might make the process less wretched. I learned a long time ago that the key to painting effectively and economically is to use the best products you can find: superior paints and brushes, good canvas drop-cloths, and now a Bahco scraper. Over the years I've tried a wide variety of scrapers and am more impressed with this one than all the rest put together. It's comfortable to use even without the ergonomic knob, but with it, the job becomes... well, almost bearable. This tool works smoothly to remove anything remotely flaking or peeling, requires minimal effort, and doesn't damage underlying wood in the process. Definitely less strenuous than anything else I've tried, and if you've ever spent hours scraping paint you'll appreciate that. Yes, you'll pay more up front, but this product is worth every penny. In fact, when I hired two people to help me on a large job, I bought each of them a Bahco 665 scraper and found it an easily cost-effective investment. Both painters were amazed by the difference it made and how much time (and effort) it saved. In my own case, it probably cuts my time by roughly a third on weathered surfaces and the ridiculous numbers of paint layers I encounter. I also like the fact that the sharp edge stirs up less dust... face it: paint dust is not something you want in your lungs, on your clothes, or anywhere else. You'll also pay more for the replacement blades, but again they last a remarkably long time and are worth the investment. I bought a replacement blade along with my original scraper and haven't had to use it yet. I wasn't familiar with Bahco until I bought this item, but I'm keeping an eye out for their other products now. ... show more

This is the answer to a lot of head scratching: How to remove 30 years of cabinet crud so I can paint? Carbide Scraper is an excellent tool, gets into tight corners, gives me hope that these cabinets will soon be something to feel proud of. I watched a video of a wood refinisher who reviewed and approved of this tool to remove old build up varnish and grit without scratching the furniture. I don't want to damage anything but I knew this job wouldn't work without a significant tool. Murphy's soap, cutting board oil loosened the gunk but in no way could it remove old grease well enough to paint. This tool is doing the trick. My new best friend!! Carbide Scraper!! I own a 1920’s house with wood siding and I am located in the Deep South with scorching sun. Over the years the sun and humidity play havoc with paint resulting in what is known around here as alligator finish. A painters multi tool is just plain brutal work and razor blade devices just will not hold up to the job. The Bahco scraper excels in several categories. First, it feels good in your hands. The texture really helps for big jobs and the curved handle and the knob puts the force where it needs to be. However, the most impressive part of the tool is the carbide blade which is incredibly tough and lasts through hours of hard scraping. I have scraped the entire side of my house with one side of a blade ( the blade is reversible). Finally, the blade extends on both edges which is useful for gouging are working tough spots. This tool bites into hard, layered paint. Best and least strenuous tool that I know of for removing old paint. ... show more

Blade is sharp and flat. Scrapes very well (almost as good as a furniture-makers card scraper) Stripped poly finish from an old dresser and the base of a kitchen fruit holder with no issue and the blade is still sharp. Definitely a good tool IMO.

I was refinishing a giant cabinet, and was struggling to find a solution get the finish off. This thing worked unbelievably well. The only knocks I have are that it cuts too deep on the edges, and doesn’t scrape with the entire width of the blade.
