After using about $4 worth of mineral spirits cleaning the wet/dry Jet Co. roof tar off my 20 year old metal scraper I got these to use and pitch for my last roof vent sealing job. Mineral Spirits come from oil. Plastic comes from oil. My non-wool/silk blended polyester clothing and shop rags come from oil. Gasoline in my car comes from oil. All organic chemistry is Hydrogen and Carbon only. Go "organic" and use a little plastic oil to save some mineral oil. It all comes from black oil from the ground. All else is inorganic chemistry. We are carbon based life forms. Tossing a paper plate uses wood from trees which are a renewable resource. Cleaning a glass dish wastes water, introduces soap chemicals into the water, uses electricity for the dishwasher, and uses a tremendous amount of energy to make plates. Less energy to make 10,000 paper plates. Same with these plastic putty knives, which would last a ling time if used for putty and not gross roof tar. But honestly, I don't care about that too much, it's just a waste of time and mineral spirits getting that tar off of everything. Jet Co is great tar by the way. Big can sold in hardware stores for $7 instead of big bucks for spray on flex seal which would have been even more messy. ... show more

Very sturdy, clean up great, quality is better than your Dollar store brand! I bought them for puddying my walls, but I use them to clean off my kitchen countertops of drips, and will use the larger one when I start doing my peel and stick wallpaper removing bubbles.
