I bought this based on the great reviews, and it is a perfect backpack for me. It fits under the airline seat and is as large as is allowed to meet the qualifications for a "personal item". It has the right # of zippers and pockets without overdoing it. I was able to put things in the back pocket that I might need on the plane and everything else in the front. I have a medium size canvas pocketbook and it fits inside along with a lot of other miscellaneous items. It is wonderful quality and worth the price. My only wish is that there would be double zippers on the main areas.

This brand was recommended when I searched online for carry on backpaks. Went with the 40L bc can expand./compress with side zipper. Came in a variety of colors. Had to get it when it went on sale. Well packaged and came on time.. Extra bags for shoes, toiletries or small clothing, and another bag I'll use for dirty lingerie and socks. Material and seams appear sturdy. Nice trim. I wanted one that would hold some shape when empty, not flimsy nylon, but still could be rolled up to store away. Spacious for a long weekend trip. Spaces for a water bottle and cell phone on sides. 4 zippered compartments. Wish the inside one was split into mesh and waterproof compartments instead of 1 entire mesh one. Lighter than a rolling bag. New item smell, not bad, but aired it out of plastic bag for a few days. The buckles are not very rigid - skimped on the plastic. Hopefully won't break but can purchase replacements I think. Can't wait to use it. Update: Fit a lot for my weekend trip. About 4 pounds. Not used to carrying that much weight on my shoulders which resulted in some muscle spasms in my back each time I took it off. Will have to practice before my next trip. Was able to fit it in the hotel drawer out of the way and take out what I needed keeping things clean and neat. Another drawback is front pockets have no sections for pens, eye glasses, etc so end up rolling around. But overall, was fine for the price.

Love how versatile it is. We’re currently traveling for five weeks in France - each of us have this backpack and a single SMALL carryon. The backpack has two side buckles on each side to pull it in to make it more compact, as well as an internal buckle in the main interior section. Fits easily under the airplane seat. Can put stuff I need in outside pockets for easy retrieval. And a bonus was getting the various size cubes. Would def recommend!

i travel frequently for business trips or short trips. and i travel very light (i often went to Paris with my passport, toothbrush, and $20...) once i went from Europe to the US and the US Customs inspector looked at me and looked at my small plastic shopping bag and said, "what happened to your luggage?" yeah, i travel light. so i wanted a small backpack that can hold my laptop and open flat for my shirts and stuff. the bag does the job. the backpack has three outside compartments for small stuff. it also has an inside compartment for dirty laundry, an extra bag for shoes, another bag for whatever, and yet another bag for more whatever. the handle is some sort of leather-like material: thick but easy to hold. it's a great bag, well-made, and will last for years.
