This backpack really impressed me with it's overall construction. I've had some bags from Baggallini before and the fabric is comparable with others I've used - a strong lightweight water resistant nylon that is very easy to clean. My general experience with them is a quality product that lasts a very long time and all my first impressions support that. There is one very large interior pocket that has a laptop sleeve, clip for your keys, an RFID blocking pocket for cards/wallets/IDs, a second small pocket for pens/notes or other small things, an elastic strap for a pen and another larger zipper pocket behind those. The inner section is nice and boxy and I was really excited to note that it not only stands open completely without additional support or contents, but the top of the bag has a hinge opening so you can set it on the ground, unzip it and the top of the bag will stay upright and open for you to fish things out. Every exterior zipper on this bag has some kind of theft-resistant function. The main compartment and the front most compartment both have carabiner style zipper pulls that you can clip to a D ring. It's not a full lock, but it does mean no one is going to be able to unzip your bag easily without you noticing. The middle front pocket doesn't have a carabiner on the zip, but it does have a little stop and when you thread the zipper pull through this, it takes more work to get it open as it has to be threaded through the stop first. There is also an additional snap closure strap over the main compartment zipper on the backpack handle. The side pockets are completely open, but these are most likely to store things like water bottles, snacks or sunglasses - so not things you would be as concerned about in most situations. They also zip-expand open to offer a bit more space if you have a large thermos or something similar to carry. Besides the thick padded straps, there is a panel at the back of the bag for slipping over the trolley handles of luggage which makes this an idea travel bag.

This bag is nice and compact. I like that you can open it up and see all the way to the bottom of the bag. The zipper arrangement is kind of the same arrangement as a doctor bag. This backpack is comfortable to wear, but I feel it would be a more suitable for petite women, which works in my case. The pattern is very attractive and professional. The zippers all work great and the anti-theft locking feature is effective to protect others from rummaging in your bag in places where there is a lot of people. I like the sleeve that allows you to put it over the handle of the suitcase for easy transport if you want to use this as carry on luggage. There are the top handles that can snap together in case you want to carry it by hand instead of wearing as a backpack. I really love how the side pockets are zippered so they can be widened to carry a variety of sized drink containers. There is also a sort of incognito zipper pocket that is covered with material, so unless you know it's a zippered pocket, it just looks like a design of the bag. I now own several Baggallini bags, and this one like all of them are very thoughtfully designed for maximum functionality and versatility. Highly recommended.

I rarely give 5 stars on something unless I find additional value and my first impression of this bag kind of blew me away. I know it's pricey, but the quality and thoughtfulness cannot be ignored. Every ingress point has a protection, along with the straps having cut protection. The top opens wide allowing the bag to be fully open to gaze upon the full interior. The top has a wire that helps push it open as well. The zippers all feel very high in quality, and the exterior material of the bag does as well. My wife loves the portobello color in person. The laptop compartment fits my 16" Macbook pro, and fits her 16" HP Envy (separately, not together...although there may be room for both). There isn't a ton going on in the front two pockets besides being, well pockets. The inside of the main compartment has some additional pockets for phone, and a strap for a wallet. The expandable side pocket comfortably holds a 30oz stanley cup with handle, but a 40oz is just a tad too large to fit and would fall out.

I had a Baggalini crossbody purse with many of the same security features that's my favorite go-to bag. This one is great for it's roomy sections and security features. Unfortunately, the backpack straps hit my underarm area in an awkward and uncomfortable way no matter how I tighten or loosen the straps. I wouldn't be able to tolerate where the straps rub near by chest except for short. The straps are sewn in securely so no way for me to make personal adjustments. Hence giving 4 instead 5 stars. May fit someone with longer torso better

Needed a backpack that felt safe enough for city travel but still worked for daily errands—and this one delivered. Took it on a recent work trip and felt totally at ease knowing the zippers lock and the strap is slash-resistant. It doesn’t scream “anti-theft,” which I actually like—it just looks clean and simple.
