Very well made. Happy that the bag is not cumbersome but will allow me to carry everything I need for my trip. Including space to store a jacket inside. Happy that it has two very nice water bottle pouches! A lot of travel bags do not or are too bulky.

As a frequent flier, I'm always searching for a backpack that will hold everything I need to access on a flight but that is also secure. This Baggallini Securtex backpack joins another Baggallini that I've taken on both domestic and international trips. While the older one (the Modern Convertible Travel Backpack) has some better features over the Securtex, this still has some notable improvements, namely a more secure zipper system, tighter exterior water bottle pockets, and a easier to figure out interior organization. I also love how the exterior zippered pocket has good depth and width. The Securtex system can be both frustrating and a godsend. Because it takes time to unlock the zippers so that they can be used, I've decided to disengage the zippers when the backpack is fully under my control and engage them when I wear it in the airport or through a city. I love that the padded shoulder straps are cut-resistant. If you have someone hacking at them with force and specialized cutters, you have other problems. I love that the interior is wide open without dividers or other space-limiting organizational features. The small RFID-protected pocket inside is large enough to contain my iPhone, but, of course, the phone won't communicate with my Apple Watch if it's inside. It WILL fit my passport. The bag also has an adjacent slip pocket of the same size, a full-height zippered pocket behind them and a half-height zippered pocket opposite. The specialized laptop pocket has its own separate, zippered compartment that rests against your back. The back has a sleeve to fit over ran extended luggage handle. The zippers are secured when you clip the pulls together, carabiner-style, and then to a metal ring at the base. Even without attaching the pulls to the ring, it's difficult to open since both pulls travel along the zipper teeth without opening the interior. For moderate security, I've decided that just attaching the zipper pulls together is enough. Although I prefer the exterior fabric of my Modern Convertible backpack -- it just looks better -- the nylon on this Securtex is supposedly more resistant to slashing. The material also seems to make this backpack slightly more lightweight, always a travel consideration. This backpack has some unusual features. RIght off the bat you'll notice a difference in how the main zippers work. The close up of zippers shows this fairly well. On two compartments with dual zippers, you can interlock both zippers, then lock them onto a ring at the end of zipper travel. What does this do for you? It makes it impossible for someone to quickly zip open your backpack and steal from you That's major. It makes the contents of your backpack better protected against theft. There's another feature I love. One of the inner pockets of the main compartment has RFID blocking technology built in. What's that? Anyone with a RFID reader can get information off of your credit cards, your passport, and other things with RFID tech built in. That's how thieves can gain access to your info and use it to steal from you. Now you can put your credit cards and passport in the RFID blocking pocket and you're protected against having the information stored in your credit card stolen and used by thieves. There's a third security measure here. Built into the fabric the backpack is made of are anti-slash panels. These prevent a thief from using a knife to slash open your backpack to steal it's contents. This backpack has a full compliment of pockets. There's a zippered pocket on the front and an elastic pocket for drinks on both sides of the backpack. The spacious front main compartment has two zippered internal pockets and an organizer. The rear main compartment is padded to hold your laptop or tablet securely. On the back there is a unusually wide band to fit over your rolling luggage to ease carrying it through airports, etc. If you worry about someone stealing from you electronically or physically, this backpack has excellent security features to protect you and your data. ... show more
