This product is used mainly to slice English muffins each morning which i have with my breakfast. Occasionally I eat bagels but I have not yet purchased any bagels but I suspect this slicer will do just as well with bagels as it does with English muffins. I am very satisfied with the product and recommend it highly. It came well packaged and is easy to use and clean. If you have young children keep them at a distance, that blade is sharp and the device is meant only for adults.

So happy to get this product. Have had many ;'near misses' slicing bagels with a knife! It is easy to use and clean. But often, it does not cut all the way down to the bottom of the bagel. Also, wish the feet of the slicer had some rubber padding so that it doesn't slide around.

To answer the big question, yes, it cuts deli bagels from New Jersey. There are times if the bagel is soft it will squish it a little, but it is easy to pull the edges round again. I make bagels at least 2-3 times a week for breakfast sandwiches and stuff like that. I cut all types of bagels, everything, onion, poppy seed, sesame seed...not one issue. Blade keeps going. After a few uses I run in through the dishwasher and everything is clean. I would buy this again.

This slicer has several faults, the most glaring is the incredibly dull blade. Unless you have a dense bagel, this slicer will just smash them as illustrated in my photos. Another issue is that due to the V shaped blade it does not fully slice the bagel. The point of the blade hits the bottom and that's it. It should of been designed with the bottom higher up so that the entire width of the blade reaches the bottom of the bagel. The third fault is that it's too narrow, fine for generic grocery store bagels, but you'll likely have a hard time with more bakery sized ones. Even Costco bagels are too large and need to be squished to fit. I would not recommend this.

It doesn't work at all with frozen bagels and it tends to smush fresh bagels because they are too soft. I find it works best if I take a frozen bagel out and let it thaw for a few minutes and then slice it. It is easy to clean with the brush or by simply rinsing under the faucet.

I bought this cuz it says it fits muffins and bagels. Well, it does not fit Panera bagels (yes, I know they are bigger and slightly more fancy than normal bagels.) But other than that, it seemed nice. I put it back in the box and now its sitting on my shelf cuz I let the return time run out. Its not a bad slicer, just not big enough for what I need it for.
