Under every great garden is even better soil! The Back to the Roots Natural and Organic All-Purpose Potting Mix is the 1st premium, 100% peat-free soil packed with nutrients so you can grow a bountiful garden in your home. It has coconut coir which retains the moisture of the potting soil, a beneficial mycorrhizae to enhance your plant's root growth, and yucca extract which helps with water and nutrient retention that penetrates deep into the plant's root zone. A mission to get America growing again through peat-free gardening. • The Quality of the Product!
Style: Organic Indoor Soil Size: 12 Quart
I needed a very specific quality of soil for my indoor plants! Because I bought some beautiful new pots! This soil is the best that I have found! And so convenient to have it delivered to my house so quickly! And I really appreciate that the seller sent a small package with 2 small packages of mint seeds! It’s holding the water so much better than I expected! There is no smell after watering my plants from the soil! And my plants are doing so well! Usually they go into shock when transplanting them! Great price! And I didn’t even have to leave my house! I highly recommend this product for anyone that enjoys having beautiful, healthy indoor plants! Thank Amazon for such an amazing product! And thank You seller for selling such a special product that has special healthy ingredients for indoor plants! I purchased 5 bags! If I need more soil I will be buying more from your company! ... show more

  • Seems good
Style: Organic Succulent & Cacti Soil Size: 6 Quart
It's a good product. However lots a sticks in the bag I received. I ended up digging a lot of the sticks that were too large. That worked for planters that are too deep and helped drainage. Overall I mixed it with miracle gro soil. My plants liked that.

  • First impressions, editing to 4 stars
Style: Organic Indoor Soil Size: 6 Quart
***HERE'S MY UPDATE: About a month later and I saw some new growth on the seedlings! I'm pleasantly surprised. It still doesn't have a smell and I didn't notice any gnats or anything. I will also say my kids played in it like it was regular dirt. Definitely not for outdoor use. I forgot it was only meant for indoors and put my planter outside and they were dead the next day, but that was completely user error. If you want indoor plants, this stuff is for sure worth a shot. Pics are before transferring to this new potting mix and a few weeks later. My first impressions are not great and I will update if anything changes. Upon opening the bag, it doesn't look like soil. At all. It looks like someone kept all their cat's hair balls and tricked people into thinking it's dirt. I didn't like touching it either; it was dry and fuzzy, like felt. I am extremely skeptical about the effectiveness of this stuff but keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn't kill my kids' seedlings. I will say that it doesn't have a scent which is nice and seems to hold quite a lot of water while also draining enough that the plants don't drown. ... show more

  • Clean and organic coco coir!
Style: Organic Expandable Soil Size: 51 Quart
The media could not be loaded. This is some nice stuff. And it’s a lot! I’ve always bought the 1+ lb bricks and decided to step up to this 10lb block. I started with half of the block (it splits easiest along its width into two big squares kind of like a giant sandwich) and was shocked at the quantity of loose coir it expanded into! I wound up using a bit more than half of that amount in my mix for two 5 gallon grow bags (mixed with perlite and worm castings) and so far the results have been excellent. I’m seeing great growth with incredible water holding capacity and drainage. I chose this block because it was the least expensive I could find that was OMRI listed, and I have no regrets with my choice. Coir is a great growing medium - just remember that it doesn’t really offer any nutrient value to your plants (which is fine for seed starts or cuttings) so if you’re potting up, make sure to add some high quality organic amendments/fertilizer to the mix as well. Your little green friends will thank you! ... show more

  • Mushrooms keep appearing in the soil
Style: Potting Mix Size: 6 Quart
This is the second season that I purchased this potting soil. I purchased 2 bags. However this season I keep getting clusters of small mushrooms in my various pots with my basil and edible herbs. The soil must be loaded with spores which is disappointing. These pots are the only plants I have on my terrace which is on the 13th floor of my building so they aren’t being affected by other plants or soil. I’ll not be purchasing this product again. ... show more

  • so much easier to use than lugging and lifting a big bag of soil
Style: Organic Expandable Soil Size: 51 Quart
This is the first time i have ever used this type of gardening soil. I was surprised how easy It was to water down and break apart. I liked the convenience of placing the cube in my wheel barrow, filling it with water and scraping it till it completely broke apart with a small shovel. I'm at the age where the bags are getting too heavy for me to drag and lift into my wheelbarrow. This is much more convenient and easier to work with. I will most likely purchase more for various raised gardens around my property. ... show more

  • UPDATE ON: A What I thought is a Quality product?
Style: Organic Indoor Soil Size: 6 Quart
UPDATE on the additional purpose of the larger size. Using one of the two bags today, I discovered as huge piece of wood, which I am sure would impact the weight of the contents of the bag. Still a good product, don't want to pay for driftwood, instead of what is supposed to be the product sold! I have used for house transplants, and the plants are doing well, if not better. Tis the season, I have started seedlings using solely 'Roots Indoor' and the tiny plants are coming up strong, just about ready to transplant to the main garden outdoors. I have repurchased, the larger size (see my UPDATE) ... show more
