I sit down at my desk constantly so this was a great help to fixing that. I can see where this will help in keeping your shoulders back, which in turn helps straighten your back. At 5'9", 210lbs, I don't consider myself fat, overweight, yes. I ordered the large size but the bands that come around your stomach barley come together enough for the Velcro to meet. It is almost uncomfortably tight around the waist, but maybe that is the point.
