  • Great Product, Easy to install and use for a safety lock.
Great product. we have installed these on several of our cabinets that have chemicals or sharp objects in them in our bathroom and kitchen. We followed the instructions which were pretty easy, clean the area and then stick on and wait at least 24 hours before using. I usually installed them after my son went to bed. We have used them several times and they are pretty easy to open and click shut to get to the cabinet. I am not able to flip the switch with one hand though when carrying something. IF it was that easy though my son might be able to open it :) ... show more

  • Work well, if you use them right..
As the title says; these work well if you use them right. I didn't read other reveiws and the instructions on the back don't tell you about the locking feature. When you adjust the length and lock that part in you can't readjust! So sadly some of my safety locks couldn't be used in the areas i needed them. Otherwise, they do stick well and prevent babies from opening drawers and the like. A little expensive to have some go to waste from an easy mistake, though! Update: 7/05/2017 most of our safety locks are still in place, had to buy some more as the fridge one broke. I think that's mostly from my toddler pulling on the fridge trying to open it. These are still the only ones that really work! ... show more

  • The failures are user error
That being said, they work great. Very strong WHEN you correctly fasten the strap into the 'base' clip (the one you do not open). If you don't properly fasten the strap, it will come apart easily. Don't let the people saying they immediately fail deter you. Read the bad reviews and notice they all say they failed the first time their kiddo tested them. No presence of mind to test them themselves? ... show more

  • They work!
I meant to write this review earlier but haven’t had a chance. We have two mischievous dogs who continue to get into our kitchen trash can that actually comes with a built in lock. Unfortunately toys, chewies don’t keep them entertained enough so they get into the trash. We were going to purchase a new trash can when we realized they would just continue to knock it over, so we decided if they knock it over it’s better the lid stay put. Theses locks shipped super fast and came as pictured. They were easy to esemble and so far the pups haven’t been able to get into the trash can even after knocking it over. Thank you very much for these!! We now have more time with them, rather than spending it cleaning up. Thank you, maybe when we have children we will look into more of these. ... show more

  • Safety first
I have bought several of these and I love them. They keep my youngest out of the pantry, bifold closets and our china cabinet. Pretty sturdy and I would buy again.

  • Perfect for Keeping Toddlers Out
UPDATE 5/17/2018 Since we bought these a couple years ago we have had 6 of the 12 break. There typically isn't any warning, they just break. My 2-year-old son was closing the cabinet and the white piece broke. We now have 4 cabinets without functioning locks. I ordered another package but it's frustrating that they break as easily as they do. I still think they are a great product and help deter new kids from getting into cabinets, but I wish they lasted longer (some are still going strong even though they are opened multiple times a day). One plus is that they are relatively easy to remove, according to my wife, as she has had to take them off so we can replace them. UPDATE 11/12/2016 We had another one of the safety latches break on us. It turns out that if you access the cabinet with the latch often it causes stress while being bent back. This stress eventually causes the white/clear part to weaken (like bending a paperclip repeatedly) and then it snaps. This only happened on the most frequently accessed cabinets and all the others seem to be fine. However, it seems like these should last longer than a couple/few months if attached to a spot that needs to be opened frequently, like the cabinet below the sink where we get trash bags, dishwasher stuff, and dish soap. I appreciate that the company was so accommodating and provided us extra locks upon one breaking, but I would prefer them to last a longer time. Update 7/30/2016 This morning my daughter came to me with one of the safety locks that had randomly broken. It hasn't been treated differently than any of the other 11 safety locks we are using, so I was surprised to see this one. It is a clean break as shown in the picture. Now I need to get it replaced because this one kept the toddler out of the art materials so he doesn't show off his drawing skills on the walls and floors. However, I don't need 6 of them. These have been infinitely better than the latches that go on the back of the cabinets to keep them from being accessed by toddlers. These have done a perfect job at keeping our 2-year-old son out of the cabinets. He discovered quickly he couldn't get into the cabinets and now spends less time in the kitchen. This has been fantastic because now we don't have to stress about him destroying our dishes or getting into dangerous chemicals under the kitchen sink. If installed correctly, they don't even open outward much which has served as a huge deterrent for my son. These were easy to install. I just watched the video online and was good to go. I also like that they come in different colors to better match the cabinets. I will definitely be buying another set for the bathrooms and other cabinets around the house. ... show more
