The media could not be loaded. Beautiful! The hair is matted. However, you can fix it if you want. VERY GENTLY part in small sections. Spray the hair with water and add a small amount of hair conditioner or silicone mix to each section GENTLY COMB out tangles and knots. The hair is so soft you can curl it with your fingers.

Her hair was very frizzy. Not like pictured. I believe it can be managed and brought back to life to appear more like pictured. She is super cute. She is also very well made. I like the fact that my daughter loves it. But it doesn't look like the advertisement. It looks like a knockoff. The bow on the head is small.... Very small. The hair isn't curly either. But as long as the kid isn't complaining, we will keep her. Not worth $45 to me, but i dont know what these things are worth to anyone else Edit::: now a few monts later she is ready for a new doll. And the hair looks like its getting shorter. The hair has become completely matted and it cannot be styled at all. And now my daughter is begging for a different doll. She doesn't even touch it anymore. She plays with her other dolls. Now it's not worth it to her or me especially for $45. What a waste. Not to mention the body is not made out of the same material as the arms and the legs. It's fabric, and the arms and legs are not soft at all. It feels like a hard vinyl plastic substance. What a disappointment

Told my granddaughter to pick a doll she chose this one because it looked like her . Even know she loves the babydoll and has already got new clothes for it ..I only have one real complaint the hair wasn't what I expected very rough and hard to brush afraid it's gonna fall out wasn't nothing like the picture other then that as long as my girl is happy I'll be ok with it..

The media could not be loaded. I purchased this doll for my 8-year-old daughter for Christmas, and while itâs cute, there are definitely a few areas for improvement. First, the doll is a bit small and doesnât quite match the realism I hoped for, especially compared to her white beginner reborn doll, which has a slightly more lifelike appearance. This seems to be a common struggle with many reborn artists when it comes to creating African American or ethnic dolls. While this was the best-looking option I could find at this beginner level, it still resembles a regular store-bought dollâespecially with the cloth bodyâaside from the hair. Which brings me to the main issue: the hair. Like other reviewers mentioned, the dollâs hair came very matted and stringy, far from the big, curly style shown in the photos. I had to put in extra effort with leave-in conditioner and mousse to detangle it, which led to some shedding despite being as gentle as possible. After finger coiling and some care, it looked much better. I know my daughter would have pointed this out immediately if I hadnât taken the time to fix it. This highlights another opportunity for doll makers to consider when crafting Black dolls: better attention to realistic and manageable hair. If you go into this purchase with realistic expectations and are prepared to put in some work right out of the box, this doll can still be a good choice. In the end, Iâm sure my daughter will love her, and thatâs what matters most. However, I hope to see improvements in the future for dolls representing African American childrenâboth in realism and quality.
