This head band protector protects the Air Pods Max mesh space-chair material and adds a touch of extra comfort. The black version blends in with charcoal gray pretty well, and will be pretty unnoticeable if you wear these out. I may end up getting a top protector too, but this bottom head band protector should be bought at the same time as your Air Pods Max. Pretty good quality and fit as well for $8-$9.

This was very easy to install. It fit really well on the headband of the Airpods Max and the quality of silicone is really pleasant to the touch. it does make the headband a LOT firmer. so for some that might be comefortable. for some not. for me it was pretty good although i could feel a bit of pressure on the top of the band

I just slipped this cover onto my four-year-old Airpods Max headphones, and after ten minutes I couldn't stop myself from writing this review. I've loved my Airpods Max for everything they can do, and forgiven them for their flaws, especially feeling like a dragon is picking me up with its claws by the head when I put them on. This cover, incredibly, made such a significant difference in both the overall comfort of wearing the headphones despite their weight, as well as the clamping effect they have. They actually feel better than I remember them being OUT OF THE BOX four years ago, let alone now that the mesh band as started sagging. I was depressed when Apple failed yet again to give enough of a crap about the Max to really update them, but after trying the newest, top of the line Bose, Sony, and Sonos headphones, none of them could convince me to move off my Max, and I felt stuck. This ~$10 solution has given me everything I need to keep using my Max, I'm so glad I thought to look up third-party mods for my Max. I'm a huge sucker and I've convinced myself that the rumors about Apple waiting another year for the Max 2 is because they are working up some crazy new tech, like tempered glass earcups or something, that will change the game and make the five year wait worth it. Don't worry, I know the Kool-Aid I'm drinking is Apple-flavored LOL. If you're anything like me and love how your Max sound, look, and integrate into your Apple world, but you are fed up with the weight/clamping, absolutely try this cover, it's crazy not to and you'll be glad you don't have to dish out ~$400 to try and recreate what your Max do with another brand you don't like as much. Save that money and put it towards what will likely be the $1,200 Airpods Max 2 they don't announce until after they've released iPhones they implant directly into our eyes, Futurama-style (both of which I will absolutely buy immediately). ;-)

Pros: Protects the mesh (part that touches the top of your head.) Makes them stay in place better. True to images. The black is black and not greyish or brownish Cons: Can get dusty/fibers stick to the silicone. Only protects the under side of the mesh. Isn't 100% flush to the bands. All in all, worth the 8 bucks or whatever I spent on it..
