This really added such an aesthetic appeal to my tank. It looked so bare before adding this background. Just know you will need double sided tape because this is not adhesive and doesn't come with any adhesive.

It's more than enough for my 46 gal. I had to trim it. It's takes some doing to get the folding creases out. I don't recommend ironing it. It looks good in the background and I am well pleased.

I requested the AWERT 48x20 inches Aquarium Background to be used on a new 55-gallon aquarium tank in which I have both a Tiger and Albino Oscar. The length is perfect for my new tank although I have about an inch or more excess along the bottom edge (height), if I align the mat's top edge with the top of the tank. That is great as I can either leave it as is (with the excess) or I can trim it back to be flush. The weakness of this product comes from the "adhesion" aspect when mounting the background vinyl. The product provides a total of four (4) double-sided adhesion pads of about 1 inch by 1/2 inch in size, as if that will be enough to secure the entire 4-feet mat to the back of the aquarium securely. Secondly, literature indicates that you "can cut the pads to custom size". I think 12 of the pads should be included so that you can ensure that your vinyl is aligned properly every foot of length and height. Getting one side completely aligned correctly would make it child's play to end up with a very nicely and properly aligned background attached to the back of your aquarium. ... show more

This took a while to get here, so I didn’t see a review beforehand that said ‘this is fabric’. Was initially not happy that it’s fabric, but since my tank was already set up against a wall, it was far easier to shimmy this in place and have it look good than if it had been a vinyl cling. The image has amazing color vibrancy, and the fabric is a tight weave, quite opaque. I like it better than a cling I have for another tank. It did come with four clear, double sided tape tabs to stick it to the tank. Won’t bother with it. All the wires and the HOB filter are holding it in place well enough. It came folded up - Pretty confident the fold creases could be ironed out on a low setting. I would buy this again if I had a tank that was already set up, and the background was an afterthought, or if I were commissioned to sew a small bag for somebody and wanted/needed a hyper realistic tank image. ... show more

Really transformed the look of my aquarium. Note that per instructions I ironed it to get rid of the wrinkles but when mounting it discovered that it was 2” short (not 48”) and wavy. Probably too hot iron but the waviness makes it truly look 3-D. Very happy
