  • Good supplement to Conversations with the Goddesses by Agapi Stassinopoulos
I have been reading Agapi Stassinopoulos’ Conversations with the Goddesses: Revealing the Divine Power Within You, so I was quite curious about this book when it was offered to me to review. These two books compliment each other well. Agapi’s book is more heart-to-heart, while Dr. Goldberg’s book has a more clinical aspect to it. I think both of these facets are valid and it is quite helpful to look at womanhood from both of these viewpoints. Don’t be fooled when I say this book is more clinical into thinking that I mean it is cold or detached, because that is not how I mean it. Indeed, compared to many books by clinical psychologists, this is warm and engaging, but still differs from Agapi’s perhaps more natural feeling ‘relationship’ to the goddesses. I honestly think both of these have much to offer, but if you have a strong feeling for or against one of the viewpoints, then perhaps just one of these books would be better for you. The basics of this book are: Chapter 1: spiritual self; self awareness; losing touch with yourself; Athena; reaching out to yourself; listening to yourself; appreciate yourself; your contributions matter Chapter 2: goddess spirituality; maiden, mother, matron; Astraea; your own goddess archtype; Asherah; see your inner goddess; Spider Grandmother; your core qualities; honor the journeys of others Chapter 3: your relationship with yourself; embrace your shadows; how you talk to yourself; Tara; how you think about yourself; make yourself a priority Chapter 4: your gifts; shadow work; rites of renewal; shadow gifts; putting your gifts into action; spiritual gifts Chapter 5: get outside of yourself; Aine; find yourself in your community; Amaterasu; your support systems (friends, family, work); rethink how you interact with others; spiritual benefits of nature; surrender to spirit; your relationship with the world Chapter 6: give yourself permission; Bamya; gradual process of being the true you; embrace your uniqueness; Chapter 7: making choices and goals from empowerment; what makes you feel fulfilled?; Devi Sarasvati; what do you value?; start thinking about goals; visualize what you want Chapter 8: divine self-care; care is spiritual, physical, mental and emotional; Oshun; figuring out what works for you; what self-care is not; build on the basics Chapter 9: love all of yourself; divine self-love; prioritize your own happiness; Vesta: crystals and aromatherapy Chapter 10: you are full of potential; Anuket; reasonable goals; chakras; live your values; stay committed to yourself Agapi’s book is about only the Greek goddesses, while Dr. Goldberg’s book uses a wider array of mythology. I really have to recommend Conversations with the Goddesses more highly. I found Agapi’s connection more authentic or earthy or soulful. Dr. Goldberg’s book has more in common with a lot of pop psychology books. But both books have something to offer. But that’s JustMe. (I received this product in exchange for an honest review, and that is what I have offered here.) ... show more

  • Inspiring, Helpful Book with Useful Exercises
This book is perfect for 2020 when so many of us are struggling with the state that Covid has left us and the world in. The book is a positive experience in each chapter and helped me feel more capable and emotionally sane. The quizzes are actually really fun and useful too! I recommend it for sure.

  • Glad I gave this a chance
I didn't expect to like this as much as I did. A lot of practical skills and insights. Some parts seem a bit repetitive in the second part of the book, but it's helpful to use different perspectives on these prompts. This would be useful for anybody who's feeling off balance and out of control in their life. ... show more

  • Meh but also good
Not a fan of the ideas of vibrations or masculine and feminine energies (both of which are mentioned in this book, though the former more consistently than the latter). The book includes some interesting and creative journaling and visualization prompts and includes a section dedicated to various resources to learn more about fifferent subjects and ideas. I highlighted a lot of quotes which really touched me or left an impact on me. I would say this is a good book aimed at women for self improvement, but not everything was my cup of tea. ... show more

  • Deeper knowledgeto who you are & love thyself & other women
Have to friend in need but will purchase again for myself... great info! Understanding v what Goddess you are is from psychological background of different types of women we are and can be interchangeable. I have read student of Jung books but this is a workbook plainly written for you to question yourself, encourage, eye opening to your soul with a little homework to go more than surface level. Highly recommend. ... show more

  • I love this book
Lots of active journaling prompts to do shadow and light work. Perfectly balanced and wonderful guidance to self improvement. Not necessarily aimed at advice for women specifically as all could truly benefit from these beautiful articulated life lessons.
