Features
- Power Through Wood Working - The 800W 1.25 HP 6.5-Amp handheld router delivers plenty of power for routing and trimming jobs - from shaping hard oak table edges to trimming soft pine shelves. Variable speeds (10,00032,000 RPM) lets you match speed to the material: lower settings prevent burning in hardwoods, higher settings give clean finishes on softwoods and laminates
- Adjustable Depth for Precision - Smooth rackandpinion system on this fixed base router lets you dial in exact cutting depths quickly and locks tight during use. Whether you're cutting slots for door hinges or cutting straight grooves, your workpiece stays accurate - no slipping
- Illuminate Your Work Area - Dual bright LED lights light directly on the cutting path, making it easy to follow layout lines even in dimly lit cabinets or under-counter spaces. You'll always see exactly where the bit is going, reducing errors and boosting confidence
- Quick Lock System & Comfort Grip, Less Fatigue - The quick lock system makes it easy to adjust depth or change bases - so you can switch between freehand curves and straight cuts without trouble. The rubber-covered handle gives you a comfortable, non-slip grip that cuts down on hand fatigue during longer routing jobs
- Built to Last with Dust Control - The aluminum body and base hold up job after job, while the included dust hood hooks up to a standard shop vac to catch dust right where it cuts. A cleaner workspace means you can see better and spend less time cleaning up
- Reay-to-Use Kit- You get the hand router, plus 5 different types bits (straight, chamfer, roundover, etc.), edge guide for straight cuts, roller guide for curves, both 1/4" and 3/8" collets, spare carbon brushes, and wrenches. Just open the box and start your project

This little thing is a monster. I use it to make keyholes in some plaques I make and it chews through the job like it’s nothing. Good quality and honestly better than I expected for the price. Smooth, strong, and easy to control.

I recently got a FoxAlien Masuter Pro table top CNC router. It came with a 52mm clamp for the included 60W spindle but it was a little under powered to route deep cuts in hard wood. It also came with a 65mm clamp to accommodate a larger router like the Makita or DeWalt compact routers. I really didn’t want to spend over a hundred dollars on one of those and I saw this Avid Power. I never heard of this brand and it had gotten good reviews. For 64$ (with a 5$ off coupon), I figured I’d take a chance. My Review: When I got it and opened the box, my initial reaction was, wow, this looks like a quality router. Build really nice, and nothing that looked cheap about it. It also almost looked like the Makita but red! It also came with a nice set of router bits, router edge and roller guides, dust hood, 3/8 and 1/4 collets, wrench and a nice soft carry case. And not to mention a pair of gloves. I really liked the fact that it had a soft start and only takes a second or two to come up to full power. And there’s 2 LED work lights on the bottom that are a nice bonus. When I first powered it up, you could feel the power and ran smooth with no obvious vibrations. The variable speed claims it runs from 10K to 32K RPM which for my needs is perfect. Since the smallest collet this router comes with is 1/4” and no 1/8” collets were available, I was able to purchase a 1/4” to 1/8” adapter which worked out great for my smaller 1/8” bits. The router also fit perfect in the 65mm clamp that came with my CNC. After I installed the router on my CNC, I did a test carve that took about 30 minutes. This Avid Power router ran flawlessly and never skipped a beat. After it was done, I immediately put my hand on the router to see if it got warm or hot after running 30 minutes straight, and to my surprise, it wasn’t even warm at all! My Thoughts: For the money it’s definitely worth buying. As for dependability, only time will tell (as with anything). Would I recommend it, YES, I think it’s a good buy with everything you get. If you’re thinking about upgrading your CNC router, or just having a nice compact router in your shop, then this Avid Power compact router is worth getting!

First off let me tell you this is absolutely worth the money. It's a basic trim router with all the stuff you need to get going, it does the job and doesn't break the bank. I'm really happy with it. However, the low price comes with the penalty of the accessories being low but acceptable build quality. In my initial tests the the routing guide worked its way loose by the end of a long 6 ft run and allowed an unfortunate drift in the straight line. I'm now cranking down hard on all the screws and nuts to keep this straight and it shouldn't be a problem if I make shorter runs and make sure everything stays in the right place. Still, my takeaway is this is a very good value for the money all the features you need to get serious DIY work done are there including a very odd included in the box set of white gloves that I don't understand but I'm sure I'll find a use for.

I’m really impressed with this router! The build quality feels solid and reliable right out of the box. It’s very easy to use, even if you’re new to woodworking everything is straightforward and intuitive. The variable speed control is a big plus, and it handles different materials smoothly without any issues. The included bits are surprisingly high quality and perfect for beginners getting started. Overall, this is a great value for the price powerful, user-friendly, and well-made. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a dependable compact router!

The first one they sent me broke after about two hours of use. The motor would spin up and then stop. It also didn't sit correctly in the casing, and every time I'd adjust the height the metal cylinder would get scratched up. But when I contacted the company, they were extremely nice and sent me a replacement right away. I've made about a dozen picture frames on it and have had no issues. This one rests fine in its casing, and I do think the first was faulty. Considering the price and the great customer service, I think it was worth purchasing. I also assume most people won't get a dud the first time. Update after several months: I upgraded the review from 4 to 5 stars because the replacement router has been so good, and I've used it for many hours' worth of routing. Sometimes the smallest bit that came with it slides in the collet, but I haven't had issues with the other bits or bits that I bought separately. Thank you.

Failed after couple months of occasional use. Web site has warranty registration but nothing about how to claim for warranty repair/replacement. No response from multiple emails. Waste of money. Update: The seller did contact me and offered a replacement or refund. So it's good that they stand by their product.
