  • Perfect Hitting Sticks!
Style: Nylon Tip Color: ADRIAN YOUNG
Some sticks I get are heavy hitting, and other sticks I get are light hitting the drum. These are perfect right in the middle so you get that fast aggressive play style with these sticks. They play great with Stick Grips.

  • Ringo model sticks are a great sub for Jazz model.
Style: Wood Tip Color: RINGO STARR
I have been using Zildjian Jazz model sticks for about five years or so. Thought I would give Ringo's model sticks a try. I am very pleased with these sticks. They are equal in length with the jazz model which is important for me, and slightly heavier. The bead is more robust than the jazz model and finally they are "dipped". I found they are excellent for medium to larger venues without being mic'd. I will be ordering more in the future. Love em. ... show more

  • Almost identical to the John Riley stick/mallet model
Style: Mallet Color: DENNIS CHAMBERS
If you are on the fence about whether to purchase this or the John Riley stick/mallet model, there are the similarities and differences: Similarities: both are .551 inches diameter x 16 inches length, and both have very hard, felt mallet heads. Differences: this model has a slightly larger felt mallet head than the Riley model, and the tip is ball type (versus the acorn design on the Riley model.) This one works well for cymbal work, especially if you want a defined stick; the Riley is better at rebound. Personally I prefer the Riley model. That does not make it better or worse - it's my own preference and I am sure that at least fifty percent of those reading this review will prefer the opposite. I have owned the Riley model for about twelve years and since I use them perhaps on twenty percent of my gigs, and them for maybe a song or two they have held up nicely and I have every reason to expect the same from this pair. To realistically provide a lifespan I have about 60 hours actual use. That is based on 1500 gigs since I've owned them, of which 20% is 300, multiplied by 12 minutes (two six minute songs) is 3600 minutes, which is 60 hours. As for the difference in the mallet ends, to me the sound and feel are so close that I would not be able to tell the difference if blindfolded. Either is a safe purchase if you are a drum kit player who wants a dual purpose striking instrument. ... show more

  • Nice Mallets
Style: Mallet Color: JOHN RILEY
The felt is small and hard, should last a long time. I like the fact that they are also drum sticks, but, I won't be using them that way, I don't want to screw up the handles (nicks and dents from rim shots). I also bought two drum stick holders (Vizcaya Drum Stick Holder Drum Stick Bag with Drum Key) so I could keep one on the right and left of me so I could switch between the mallets, and regular sticks quickly, and easily. I look forward to the new (creative) possibilities I have now with these mallets at my disposal. ... show more

  • Great drum stick ... bad shipping
Style: Wood Tip Color: RINGO STARR
The sticks are great; however, amazon's shipping not so much! Received my first pair, and boom the sticks were a vic frith generic 5A sticks. Of course the inventory sticker said Zildjian Ringo Star on it, bad inventory and shipping practices! So had to return them, which they gave a slight hassle because the return was not Ringo Star sticks, which in the end was resolved. Received a replacement and they are terrific! Recommend the sticks, just not necessarily the retailer! ... show more

  • Reach and Power!
Style: Wood Tip Color: DAVID GROHL
After drumming for a couple years, Zildjian's Dave Grohl Signatures are my go-to for sticks. I love them because they are not thick, heavy "bashers" like many of the Vic Firth sticks I've used. Yet they have that slightly longer reach and they're not super thick either. They're perfect for my style, enabling me to have power and reach making it easy for me to move around the kit and have a greater range of responses to strikes of varying power. Of course, since they're custom-designed special-edition sticks they cost more than the average stick, and sometimes they're not easy to find. They also break easier than the aforementioned "bashers" since they aren't as heavy. But at the end of the day, the difference in performance means everything to me, and I've bought plenty of these over the years. ... show more

  • I play just like Ringo now!
Style: Wood Tip Color: RINGO STARR
I ordered these for fun to go with my Ringo snare drum, and they are great sticks. My current favorites for general play - not too heavy or light. And they are purple!!!
