Every few years I get the idea that there is a better hair oil out there and am always disappointed that it’s not as good as this oil by Aveda. I realize that hair product effectiveness is highly specific to a person’s hair type. I have a lot of fine hair (it looks thick but the hair itself is fine). It is very long and I salon dye my roots to cover gray every 5wks. I do not use shampoo but co-wash my hair. This oil reduces frizz and increases softness and shine in my hair better than any other product. It feels natural and smells very clean and natural. Amazing product with many uses. Somebody left a sample of this stuff (.1 oz tube) on my desk at work as a hint. My hair used to be really long and somewhat wild - well, really wild. It's short now. We're supposed to look professional. I looked like a caged animal. This was a gentle nudge by who, I still don't know. Anyway, I threw the stuff in my pocketbook and forgot about it until one day I needed lotion for my hands. There was no indication on the tube that it was for you hair, so all that time I was saving it for when I needed a moisturizer on the road and this was the first time I reached for it. It was AMAZING! I rubbed it on my hands and up my forearms. It disappeared instantly leaving my skin as smooth as can be with no hint of residue. The difference was VISIBLE and long lasting. I went from being amused by the anonymous person's audacity to being very, very grateful. It's the best moisturizer I've ever in my life used. Only when I went to order some here did I see that it's for your hair. At that point, who cares? I personally love the scent of essential oils and it works so well I've been proselytizing. I now use it as body and face oil. It even works great on your feet. Also, very little goes really far. I put it on right out of the shower, at which time it spreads and absorbs optimally - not that it doesn't always disappear. I can't praise this stuff enough because I have a phobia regarding gunk on my skin, so I really have to need moisturizing to use typical lotions. This stuff works better than any lotion and disappears to boot. I hope they never stop making it. ... show more
