I purchased this kit after visiting my local drug store and saw that a glucose monitoring kit was close to $80. The kit arrived quickly and after several weeks of use here is my thoughts: Pros: 1. Screaming deal-the kit contained digital reader, test strips, and carrying case for almost 75% less than the drug store. 2. Very easy to set up the digital reader and very easy to use (good instructions for first time users). 3. Compact kit that is easy to carry. Cons: 1. Sometimes there is a little variance in the readings. 2. Need to have a good sized drop of blood for accurate reading. Overall I would recommend this digital reader for an individual that want to monitor their blood sugar. ... show more

I was really surprised at how well this little gizmo works straight out of the box. Especially with the kit in its entirety. I was using another system by another big brand that just became unreliable and unresponsive after just a few uses. This is the best I’ve used yet…

    • Don't believe the results
I've been using this Glucose Monitor for a few months now to just check my blood sugar to see how my body reacts to different foods. I don't have diabetes but trying to keep my blood sugar down so that my insulin doesn't spike. Well, every morning I check my blood sugar after 10-12 hours of fasting (sleeping) and the Glucose monitor shows that I'm in the 130-145 range. What the heck? So, of course, I'm worried and ask my doctor to order a glucose and A1C test for me. After the test (fasting for 12 hours) I'm at 84. Well within the limits of a normal reading. So I have to say this monitor is very inaccurate and I don't recommend it. Especially if you are diabetic. Look for a better one. ... show more

    • Nice price, but turned out to be useless...
I got this yesterday. I ordered it to fill in the gap before I can get my script filled for One-Touch Verio strips, which anybody reading this knows are expensive... Well, set this meter up just a little while ago and took a series of 5 readings in an hour. I haven't eaten anything since yesterday at 6:30 PM, and all I've had this morning has been black coffee and ice water. Like most people with diabetes, I can estimate my blood sugar level to within a couple of points, based on how I feel. I felt that I shouldn't be more than 121 points. Well, the readings I got, (several taken within five minutes of each other) were 141, 138,183,158, and 163. That averages out to about 157. Of course, the readings were all over the place. I've read some good reviews and I've read a couple of bad ones. I usually just throw both the five-star and one-star reviews away as corporate sponsored propaganda with the former, and competitors with the latter. That's why I never give a one or five stars I believe that the 4, 3, and 2, reviews are the real thing. I should have followed my own guideline, because there was a large drop from the 5-star review bar down to the 4-star review bar. That should tell you something. I'm willing to say that this product probably has a component in it that is either binarily good or bad when it comes from the vendor. It's cheap enough to be assembled with a certain rate of expected failures, then when a call comes in, test out, find a good one, and send it off. I look forward to the manufacturer's customer service people getting back with me and replacing this one. Again, I believe the low price takes into account the possibility of a defective unit needing to be replaced. Welcome to the new business model for online purchases at a certain price point/level. I am monitoring my blood sugar to make sure I am not becoming pre-diabetic as my A1C1 keeps creeping upwards. A ketogenic specialist also recommended testing how certain foods are handled by your body and how they affect your blood sugar. And finally, the VA where I usually get my labs done to monitor all this are currently not performing lab work for veterans with the pandemic an issue right now. This lets me monitor my blood sugar, record the results, and the finger stick is adjustable on the stick device. It doesn't hurt and isn't sore afterwards, which surprised me. The results are nearly instant and it works beautifully. I don't know if every buyer gets this deal but I had a card included in my box that said I could request a second one for free so I did. The seller provided one free of charge so now I keep one in my purse and one in my office. I would highly recommend the seller and the product. ... show more
