Spent Sat afternoon swapping out the radiator. Was an exact replacement and fit perfect. No issues with leaks. The only minor drawback, the old radiator had an upper and lower foam strip that ran the length of the radiator, the new one did not come with this. Carefully removed the old foam and used on new radiator. Saved quite a bit of money, would recommend if you need. ... show more

    • Perfect fit
This radiator has been in my wife's forester for about two months now and hasn't given any problems what so ever. Installation was easy enough - though that's more a comment on Subaru's design than any particular feature of this radiator. But it is worth noting: IT DOES NOT COME WITH THE SOFT RUBBER STRIP across the top that keeps it from rubbing with the frame rail. The origial can't really be reused, its glued in place. So I used two feet of adhesive backed weatherstripping from the hardware store. DO NOT install this unit without something to take up that gap or the radiator will rattle around and probably break pretty quickly. Especially when the fix is $3.00 worth of weatherstripping. Another thing worth noting is that the connectors for the transmission cooler (there are two sets, one straight and one @ 90 degrees) were only finger tight, so they had to be torqued down. Not a big deal, and I should have checked the torque before nstallation. That doesn't detract from the overall quality of the product. Bought for my 2011 Subaru forester. Was easy to install. It did not come with the foam strip that was on the original one and the original foam strip was not reusable. Thanks to someone’s comment in the reviews I just bought weather stripping from the hardware store and that worked like a charm

I just successfully installed this in my automatic 09 impreza. It came packaged nicely with styrofoam, caps on transmission inlet/outlet, and plastic covering all ports into and out of the radiator. It was clean, undamaged and all the hoses fit just right. I'll edit this review if it doesn't work out but as of right now I am surprised by the quality and 100% satisfied with it. ... show more
