  • Doesn't fit as advertised
It seems they put the title as a click bait, because it definitely doesn't fit my 2011 Jetta.

  • Good value for what you get
I'm giving this a 4 star review but its more like 3.5. I was able to install it and it does work great so far. A couple of comments: 1. The listing says it will not fit my 2008 Jetta 2.5L, but it does and requires some additional mods. 2. The over-sized bolts supplied appear to be needed if you drill out the old manifold studs.... 3. I was able to remove the old 8mm x 1.25 studs and make new ones. 3. I did not use the composite gasket that came with the unit because it is not up to the OEM standard. I used the OEM gasket ($5.90, p.n. 1K0-253-115-J) or you can use the Mahle part ($3.25 on Amazon p.n. F32295). Both are very durable embossed 2 layer steel gaskets. 4. The new pipe outlet is smaller than the old mating pipe, so in order to use the OEM coupling clamp, I cut off a 2 inch section from the old pipe and cut it lengthwise so it would fit over the new smaller pipe like a short sleeve. That way, it's the same OD as the other pipe and the OEM clamp works perfectly. I recommend you fill in the slot that you cut with some muffler cement once you slip it over the new pipe outlet. Unfortunately I didn't have any, but it still sealed quite well. So far so good. Hoping I can get another 50,000 miles out of this car. ... show more

  • Cannot directly fit a 2012
I am grateful that a company like this one, provides a low cost catalytic converter. I couldn't afford one for $1000. That said, I soon realized that I would have to do some modifications in order to get the car up and running again. I simply cut off the flex pipe which was not very flexible and then connected the original flex pipe to the newly supplied converter. The old flex pipe also had mounting prongs that were needed to support the converter. Also, I had to find a pipe to match the converter end to the muffler pipe. At least, the car is quiet now. ... show more

  • VW 2.5
The bolts and muffler clamp is useless. The pipe will need to be swelled to seal with the factory pipe clamp to prevent leak. Other than those little issue the product is great.

  • The Listing is not correct.
It may list your vehicle, but the part is incorrect for your 2012-2014 2.5L Passat. Reason the length of the pipe after the Catalytic Converter is too short. It needs another 5 inches to be able to replace the VW Catalytic Converter. The return policy is a Joke! A 50% restocking fee? If you require a Catalytic Converter for your vehicle, do not spend your money here but put it towards an OEM part. ... show more
