Installation in my 1997 Chevy Venture was straightforward with all four assemblies mating correctly with the body mounting points. No installation instructions came in the box but I later found a downloadable pdf on the Amazon page for this item. I had to enlarge the openings for the side marker lights so the bulb sockets would fit. The alignment screw adjustments were sloppy and it looked like their plastic mounts could easily break so I was careful and used hand tools only. The headlights were loose and jiggled in their brackets so I shimmed them with a couple small pieces of scrap radiator hose to take up the free play (I did this so the headlight beams wouldn’t jump around on bumpy roads). These two issues account for detracting one star in my overall rating. Both the low and high beam patterns look good with no streaky or other poor lighting effects. Seems to be reasonable quality for economy replacement parts and a great value for the price but will have to see if problems reported by others such as water intrusion, burnt plastic develop over time.

Happy for the lights part but after a while we found out our troubles were from the mounting brackets that the lights came with. We had to use the old brackets to get the lights to go in perfect.

I initially thought it was the driver side only but it's the complete set very good price for both they look brand new.

At first look I was excited about appearance of these headlights. Thankfully, I decided to try out the aim adjustment mechanisms before installing. The adjusters do not work smoothly at all. Sometimes they are hard to turn. Sometimes they feel like plastic gears skipping teeth. Sometimes they jam up until you backup a turn or two and try again. These adjusters seem seem to be made of cheap plastic materials with poor quality control. It would be very difficult if not impossible to properly adjust the aim of these headlights. Even if you did manage to get the aim right, it seems unlikely they would stay that way. If they do not function correctly right out of the box, my guess is that they wound not function at all after putting on miles with salt spray and/or road grime. These are going back to Amazon.

Replaced old cloudy headlights on a 2005 Venture. The new headlights provide great illumination at night and look great. We had our auto shop install them. We were surprised at how expensive the bulbs (not included) were. Very pleased with the product.

Aside from a plastic fastening ring for the lights (instead of metals ones), these are near identical to the OEM assemblies they replaced. They came with no installation instructions, but, honestly, if you're here searching for replacement assemblies, you won't need instructions. Installation was pretty straightforward for the models of car/van these are intended for. (I found it easier to remove both the 'blinker' housing and the 'headlight' housing, and reinstall them together.) The entire assembly can be removed and reinstalled without tools, as they are held in place with rubber or plastic wingnuts. To reinstall your lights in the new housing, you may need to pop the long brass Torx bar out from the top, and gently swing it away. Then, replace it when the light is installed with the new plastic ring. Once assembled, it fits more snugly than the OEM set did, but not tightly enough to cause concern. The difference in light throw after replacing the old ones is striking. If you're having trouble seeing at night, or don't believe that your lights are as bright as they should be, then this is a cheap and easy fix for any DIYer out there. Just don't forget to adjust your headlights after installing. Mine came adjusted down and in fully. It took a couple of full turns on both adjusting screws to refocus them. The easiest way to adjust them is with a Torx key, such as this: Titan 12710 Tamper Proof Star Key Set. The long visible bronze Torx bar adjusts in/out, and the smaller Torx head screw on the inside adjusts up/down. Your owner's manual for your vehicle should have the proper distance for adjusting your headlights (mine was 25ft). The tighter fit and the plastic ring added a minimal amount of difficulty when installing these, so I docked a star. But, make no mistake. These are an excellent value. If you want a perfect match, be prepared to pay an arm and a leg for OEM parts. At this price point though, this product shines.
