Description
Basic function - Power conversion: The main function is to automatically switch between two power sources. When the normal power supply fails, the switch will automatically switch the load circuit from the normal power supply to the backup power supply or generator to ensure that the load equipment can operate continuously and normally. When the normal power supply returns to normal, it will automatically switch back to the normal power supply. Current- carrying capacity: It can safely carry a current of 63 amperes and is suitable for electrical equipment or loads within a certain power range.

Works but...you get what you pay for
Ordered this GXELZK 63A Generator Automatic Transfer Switch for a off-grid cabin project I'm working on. Great price for automatic transfer switch but definitely NOT for the average DIY installer. Unit came with absolutely no documentation. Without good electrical knowledge the only guidance is a crude wiring diagram on listing page. Gxelzk is a good overseas electrical supply brand but nothing I received is UL rated. Not concerned as my use is off-grid and will never be grid-tied. I installed this in a 120v single phase configuration and again, it does work BUT... Generation supply is isolated through 63A rated contactors NOT through "interlocking circuit breakers" as described in listing. The contactors are controlled by a user adjustable timer relay and are isolated by said relay. Only one contactor will supply generation to load at a time. Listing shows images of box mounted outside. It is in no way weather resistant and should only be mounted indoors. My box had the upper left knockout removed. This limited my options for mounting and resulted in sealing knockout hole in my case. There is also no cover on front of box over breakers. As seen in pictures, there were several holes drilled in plastic inset cover, but nothing included to keep little fingers or bugs out of front of box. Inset cover was also over tightened cracking inset. Struggled with star rating on this one. The fact it works and pre-wiring was done correctly...and that I could hardly buy individual components and engineer my own switch for less...push rating up from 2 to 3. Advanced DIY product and I doubt many, if any, Sparkys would install this for homeowners due to possible liability exposure.
