  • Installed easily
Thankfully it looks as though we won’t need it this hurricane season but we will be ready when the lights go out. We hope this will help keep extending cords from zig zagging all around the house when generators are in use. This outlet is well made well thought out and will be a godsend should we have to switch power in the future. ... show more

  • Easy installation
Our hunting place is off the grid. Simple installation with easy instructions. Comes with necessary drill bit which simplified the installation. I spent more time cleaning up from the drilling through the wall than all the installation. Hooked up my power and watching the game off the power grid. Just follow the well written instructions. I like the small indicator lights on the outlet box as well. Thank you for a well designed product. ... show more

  • Very Well Designed, Easy Installation
Very well designed for easy installation. Good instructions and YouTube videos on installation available. I installed mine through brick masonry with no problem. I started from a height of 19" above the interior floor, and double checked that would equate to a height higher than 24" on the outside. Thoroughly checked the wall area for AC, pipes, studs and other hazards to avoid. I started from the inside with the included paddle bit, carefully cutting through the insulation so it wouldn't wrap up on the bit. I verified clearance and no obstructions, and then carefully centered and leveled a 1/4" diameter by 12" long masonry bit from the inside out to create a pilot hole through the brick with a hammer drill. Then with a 1" diameter by 14" long masonry bit drilled from the outside, the holes lined up perfectly. (No masonry bits are included with the kit) I didn't use PVC cement; I used a liberal amount of silicone caulk sealant on the fittings and around the exterior hole. I also put a bit of silicone sealant inside the 1/2" pvc pipe at the exterior. I purchased a heavy duty 25', 10-gauge cord with TT-30P (male) plug (also known as a RV plug, for campers) to match the 30 amp plug on generator, and had to buy a 4-prong L14-30 (female) plug for the other cord end to fit with this kit's plug L14-30 (male) plug. It would have been nice if the kit came with the option of a male TT-30P plug in the housing. **BE VERY CAREFUL WIRING THE PLUG. Also note the top row of outlets covers 15 amps and the bottom row covers 15 amps for the 30 amp total capacity that it can handle - that's important as how you coordinate your plugging in of appliances, etc. ** I bought this to use with a WEN 3800 generator after winter storm Uri in Texas, with 34+ hours with no power. With this simple setup it's worth the price you'd lose in food from your fridge/freezer, not to mention the other having power benefits. Overall I think it's a great little kit, although just a bit pricey. ... show more

  • Great product, easy to install
Easy to install, best option to avoid having to put extension cords out my window. Just have to be aware that that there are no breakers on each of these outlets. So if you are drawing more than 20 amps from one of the outlets, there is nothing to stop it from overheating. I only have a 2200 watt honda generator, so thats not an issue with me. But important to know if your generator is putting out 30 amps. You just have to be cautious that each outlet is not drawing more than 20 amps. Gave it only 4 stars, because only one of the two led lights work. All outlets work ok, so no big deal. But both lights work when running a honda 2000 generator, but only one light works when running a honda 2200 generator. ... show more

  • Safe , Convenient Way to Supply Power
This product is pricey but you dont want to go cheap when safety is a factor. It is a well designed kit. I had to change original planned install site because of the offset of the inside panel and the outside box. I then chose to install inside panel on the side of a built-in bookcase/cabinet. I changed to long wood screws and thus avoided the drywall issues some are reporting. There are also complaints here about the measurement of the conduits in the instructions. According the electricians the instructions are correct. The conduit does not seat all the way into the outside connector by design. The solvent/cement is suppose to soften the conduit enough to allow you to force seating of the last half-inch. However it did not find this practical so I just cut the conduit a bit shorter like most everyone else . I installed the outside receptacle one a patio with walls on three sides at about 3 feet height. I keep the thick 25 foot cable connected using a hose holder to coil it. You do need to take care to insert the wired properly for good contact. I tested and everything works great. A word to the wise on generators: insure you have the right oil for near zero degrees weather. My generator had never failed me but had never tried it in single digit temps. When I needed it most I could not get it to start. There was so much resistance the the start rope broke. I was still working on it when the power returned. When I tried in near 70 degrees temp it turned and started up. I changed to a synthetic 10 W 30 oil, got a stronger start rope and now have a spare start rope just in case. And while I was at it, I bought and installed this kit! ... show more
