Thes blades automatically adjust. I had been using Ratchet Blades that would never adjust. Then I found out that the ladies in Craft Classes were exchanging their old Ratchet Blades for New ones, righ off the shelf. They would remove a new blade from the package, and insert an old used blade in the package. I bought three of these, brought them home and not one of them worked. I switched to the Auto Blades, and ONLY buy through Amazon. Thes work very well!! ... show more

I like the ability that I don't have to manually adjust a sharp blade to the correct depth for my cutting projects. Buying the Autoblades in bulk means I'm going to have a spare blade when it's time to replace the used one.

After the a lot of frustration and troubleshooting I finally figured out that these blades were the reason my machine wasn't cutting. First I blamed the matt ( it was barely sticky), but then tried a new one (blamed that too). Next I decided that my paper was somehow to blame, too thick, too old, too _____ (fill in the blank...as if paper could be broken). Then I was doubting my machine. It must not be working correctly, or I'm not putting it on the right settings...etc. All this to say, that I tried and blamed everything. It wasn't until I had put everything away and was lamenting the loss of my Silhouette, that I remembered that I had just opened blade #2 from my value pack of 3. I thought about it and realized that I had opened the first blade not too long ago, so why did I need another one so soon? I still had my first two blades (from when I bought the machine) so I decided to test all four to see what was what. Found out that my first two original blades could cut the paper (jagged, because they were old) all the way through, BUT neither of the new blades, #1 & #2 (how appropriate are those names) would not cut through the paper!
