  • Very very limited results
Used it on an open box washing machine i bought with dents which has very very thin metal and while there was a small 60%ish improvement if I would have known it wasn't going to be 90% good then I would not have purchased. I have serious doubts on this working on a car when it couldn't do it with this cheap flimsy washer machine metal. The thing that semiworked was the clamp looking thing. The weak hot glue has no chance of holding when using the pull hammer so that was completely useless it just popped right off. Don't recommend ... show more

  • It's pretty good .
I own a garage , inspection station and dealership . I have used a "paintless dent guy" for years . He's very good but pricey . I thought I'd give this a go . It has worked for us about 60% of the time . It's worth a try but you can't beat a pro . I do recommend it , it's worth a try .

  • Pretty Decent for Home Use
Before you look at the photos, I'm not finished yet. I'm posting these pics to show that these tools do work, but this is as far as I got after about 2 hours of work, when I had to knock off for now. I'll try to remember to add a final photo when I'm actually finished, but I wanted to get this review in before I forget. This kit is NOT a good starter set for someone who wants to pursue auto body work as a career - they are NOT professional grade tools. They ARE a decent set for home use on a car you don't want to spend a bunch of money fixing, like my 16-year-old Lincoln MKZ, which would still only be worth about $2500 even if I spent the money to have that dent professionally repaired. Disclaimer: Before today, my auto body work experience consisted entirely of climbing in the trunk and pushing out a huge dent in my first car's rear fender. 50 years ago. So I'm not qualified at all. I started out using the slide hammer, which actually worked better than I expected, and removed most of the dent pretty quickly. Then I started using the "lifter" tool on the remaining damage, and that took a lot longer, but it does work, and I have no doubt that I can spend some more time next weekend and get most of the remaining dent pulled out. I do not expect professional results - I'm 99.9% certain that there will be some damage that this kit just won't fix without removing the fender and beating on it with the included mallet, but it's better than it was, and it'll save me filing an insurance claim until someone hits that fender hard enough to justify a costly repair. The kit includes a good assortment of tools for doing basic body work - again, they're not professional grade, and if you go to a body shop and see them using this set of tool, I'd recommending not hiring them - along with an instruction pamphlet cleverly labeled "The Instructions." The instructions are fairly complete, and slightly entertaining as the tell you "You had better clean the dent..." Basically, it's a matter of hot gluing the appropriate plastic tab to the center of the dent, attaching the tool you plan to use, and pulling the dent out. The tabs stick pretty well - just let the glue cool before you start pulling - but they will pop off and fly across the garage. When that happens, either go find the one you just lost or grab another from the bag, glue it back in place, and try again. One nice feature is the glue gun has an on\off switch. I wish all glue guns had one. But the cord is kind of short, so you'll probably need an extension cord. I also recommend having a heat gun handy - if you have trouble peeling the glue residue off your car, a few seconds under a heat gun will soften it right up. Also, put something under the glue gun to catch drips - either a silicone mat or a piece of cardboard - unless you like trying to scrape hardened glue off your garage floor . . . Overall, I'm glad I ordered this kit because it worked well enough for what I needed. If you're restoring a tri-five Chevy, don't expect these tools to give you show car quality results. If you're just trying to make the dent your garage wall put in the side of your old daily driver less noticeable, this kit will serve you just fine. ... show more

  • Dents still there and now I have glue marks
I was pretty excited to get this hoping to take out several dents in my fender which has happended from cars hitting me in the parking lot when leaving. However, instead of dents coming out, I ended up with glue stuck to my car and difficult to remove. I used the scrapper and alcohol, but it is very difficult because the glue is in a dent and not easy to scrap out. I see that someone else had the same issue with the puller coming off the glue and not lifting the dent and they tried a stronger glue. I am going to attempt the same to see if I have any look. I was hoping to make the dent less noticable but now It truely is noticable with all of the glue. The door ding looks like it might have some out some but it is still visible. Will edit my review depending on what happens with the stronger glue. ... show more

  • Decent Kit for the Price
For the price of this kit, I believe it is worth trying to remove some small dents on your own. I tried it on two dents on the hood of a VW CC. One was approximately a dime-sized hail dent and the other was about twice the size. I used the gold dent lifter several times on the largest of the two and it was not doing much. The glue was releasing before much was done. I used my own Stanley glue gun with its accompanying glue and started to show more results. After about a dozen tries on the large dent, it was quite a bit better but not completely lifted. The smaller dent was very improved after about 6 or 7 attempts. I plan to continue using this kit after getting another brand of glue, maybe Gorilla. The main weak point seems to be the glue. The gold dent lifter is nice although the connection point to the glue points appears to be plastic. It never failed, but I would think it should be metal. All in all, the dents are better but not gone and I would say this kit is "okay," not great. ... show more

  • Didn't work for me
Trying to pull a small dent out of the front fender of a Ford Focus and did not have any success. The dent is along a ridge on the fender, so that might be what is causing my problems at pull the dent. A normal dent on a smooth surface may work fine. Otherwise, the kit has lots of different "tips" for the glue and few different pullers. Seems like complete system if you can get it to work. ... show more

  • Really only good for small dings
There's nothing too special about this dent puller kit, and it works just as mediocre as others I've used. The glue sticks amazingly well to my car, but it comes off way too easily from the tabs for this product to be truly effective. I gave it 3 stars because I was able to remove a small dent in my car door, but it took 8 total attempts to finally get it accomplished. I would only recommend this kit for small dings, but anything larger would probably be too big a task for this product. ... show more

  • Don’t expect to open up a body shop
This kit is great for someone that knows what they’re doing and for small jobs. I used it on some bigger dents and it worked great for that, but some smaller dime shaped dents just weren’t getting fixed with this kit. With that being said if you’re handy with body work then this could be of good use to you. ... show more
