I've owned my own real estate business for over 5 years now and have been a DJI lifer. Except for one little problem.... GEOFENCING!!! The amount of jobs I've lost, the embarrassment with the client, the overbearing corporation (DJI) who want to protect their rear ends and treat me like a baby... ugh. Well, finally this year I'd had enough and started shopping other drone manufacturers and heard nothing but the best reviews about Autel. So I purchased one here, have used it for about a month and am beyond impressed and kicking myself for not getting one sooner. Not only am I finally free of my Big Nanny's (DJI) overreach, but I love just about everything else about it. Some points for you to consider about Autel... PROS - No geofencing - Boots up in one third the time of DJI - Has been glitch-free thus far - No frozen camera/pad, no sideways photos, no randomly needing a reboot - Almost all controls are exactly the same as DJI. Flight control is 100% the same. Has Return to Home feature. - 6K video camera - Quiet - Nice long battery life - Superior flight distance without losing signal CONS - Not suitable for racing. This is not a fast drone so consider that if you ever need it to move quickly, bringing it down or moving any other direction, it may not move as quickly as you need it to. As a point of reference for DJI users, both the Phantom Pro 4 and the Mavics are faster, IMHO. (I've never used other models) Beyond that, I can't think of another con. I resisted change but am so glad I got over it finally. No more Big Nanny!! No more disappointed clients!!! All that and a high quality drone I'm very excited about.

If you’re planning on moving up to this level drone, then you will be blown away by this aircraft. Like many people, I debated between this drone and the “other” company’s drone. I watched countless UTube comparisons, read everything that I could find about this drone and really thought hard about which one to purchase. I am a professional photographer/ videographer and I produce high quality images and videos for independent as well as corporate clients. The quality of my equipment is at the top of my list of performance demands. The Evo 2 8k drone is an amazing drone! Autel really thought through every aspect of professional performance and product design. Like a high end DSLR, this drone has a lot of features and user settings. You can completely control everything from shutter, aperture, ISO, resolution, WB, angle of the gimbal and much more. It has all the mode settings that you will ever need, including single shot, burst mode, time lapse, aperture priority and shutter priority. You can set the resolution from 720P all the way to 8k. It has adjustable frame rate settings from 24fps up to 120fps. And the 48mp camera produces stunning stills. This drone has 6 mission assignments, including follow me; parallel flying for recording moving subjects; orbit for circling around a designated object; point-to-point flight path, waypath, where you can design your own flight route and Vitual Reality settings. You will have every possible combination of settings to do what you want to do. Now, let me talk about flying this drone. Flying this aircraft is a dream! The joysticks are tight like the steering wheel of a sports car. The lack of “play” in the joysticks makes for extremely precise flying. This drone responds beautifully to your movement commands. You can adjust the speed and the maximum altitude of your drone to suit your specific needs. The drone has obstacle avoidance sensors on the top, the bottom and on both sides. This drone is both larger and heavier than the “other” guy’s comparable drone. This makes this drone extremely stable in flight, which in turn gives you better stills and videos. Autel has built this drone with high quality materials. This does NOT feel like a toy! The controller is also well built and is not flimsy in the least. The intelligence of the controller is beyond excellent. It displays every bit of information necessary to give you an incredible flight experience. And the expandable cell phone holder will fit most phone models securely. A couple of closing thoughts. 1. Autel, the company is absolutely awesome! They are dedicated to be the best of the best for customer experience. I have had a couple of really pleasant email exchanges with them, even before my drone arrived. If you have any problems, or questions, they are really good at responding quickly. Lastly, please know absolutely that I am not a paid reviewer and I get no compensation at all for expressing my opinion about this drone. My review of this drone is explicitly from my own experiences with it. I am blown away about everything about this drone, and I think that you will be too.

This is the 1st drone I have ever purchased and the 1st one I have ever flown. After owning the Autel EVO II for about 30 days I am writing this review. I have been amazed at the fact it does everything that I have read about. The instructions were easy to understand. When I had questions there was always someone to talk with at the 24/7 customer service/help line, after normal business hours and on weekends ! The flight operations are somewhat technical but the learning curve is easy ! With each flight I would push the drone to another level to not only test my ability as the pilot but the capabilities of the drone also. I was very concerned about the $2000 drone just suddenly flying away, never returning, or a destructive crash . . . . . it's never happened ! My most recent test was to turn the transmit controller off during flight to see what would happen . . . . sounds like a stupid thing to do, but with the drone on a mission over a mile away, I shut the transmitter off. I waited in silence . . . . nothing . . . . I started packing up to go inside when I suddenly heard the sound of the drone. It was about 300 ft up and out of sight, but it was returning to it's take off point ! It landed with out assistance and the motors shut down. AMAZED ! Autel Robotics claims a 5 mile range but with the testing that I have done that is not completely true. While flying in the "camera" mode if the drone looses signal it will return home and that's a good thing, NO LOST DRONE ! When flying in the "mission" mode the drone will complete as much of the mission as the battery charge will allow and still return home safely(at least in my testing). The picture and video quality are exceptional and the drone is stable in winds 5 to 9 mph. Initial setup of the drone was easy and there are several options for flight safety and visual flight. There were a couple of software updates that were made but that should be expected with any company that is continuing to update their product(s). Overall as a 1st time drone purchaser and pilot I am EXTREMELY satisfied. The price for the Autel EVO II is a little high, but if you compare it to the drones that I have seen fly away . . . . . then I would have to say you are getting one hell of a drone for the price of 2 or more less expensive ones. Would I buy it again ? yes I DO NOT recommend this as a child toy Do I recommend it to others ? Yes
