I plan to use these Outdoor Rope Lights for my porch. Already I am delighted at how well waterproofed the LED strip is! These are going to be perfect for my porch as I like to light it up for the holidays and change the color according. Somethings to note right off the bat... PROS 1. The LED strip comes with an adhesive backing for quick install! Just be sure to clean the surface first when you go to attach it! 2. It also comes with anchors of sorts to reinforce the adhesive and keep your lights in place! 3. There are places in the strip where you can cut it to cut it to size and a silicone cap to make it waterproof again! CONS 1. The power adapter plug portion of the lights is NOT waterproof so be sure to plug it in under the cover of your covered porch or in an all-weather outdoor plug cap. I've also seen people ziplock it but I don't know how well that works myself. I'm plugging them in under the cover of my covered porch. 2. The default orange feels much more yellow to me. This isn't really a fault and more of a preference plus there is an app that let's you adjust it exactly to the color you want. So it's more of a non-issue. SOME COOL FEATURES: •It has an app that is easy to set up. •The strip can strobe to music playing. •The strip has several built in strobe patterns to use early on. •The strip can be set to do a noise-activated strobe (which I thought was through my phone but it still worked when my phone was on a different level of my house so maybe through the strip itself?) Final things to note: •This strip is a single color at a time. It can change colors and strobe into different colors but the entire strip lights up the same way at the same time. •I personally have not tried adding in Ts or Ls into the strip to get a really clean transition so I do not know how that will work with this strip or what the waterproofing of those joins would look like but if I have enough I'm considering adding some. An update might follow--Ive only had it a couple of weeks so I might come back later with more thoughts!

I live in the pacific northwest and used this product to replace an old rope light system that lasted for years. The light strip is amazing in its colors and options. It also connected easily with my phone and can control both sets of lights at close distance, so far 5 stars. The lotus lights download is easy enough however the instructions are nonexistent. The instructions in the kit, which includes almost all that you need are printed in a miniscule size and at best minimal information. I have tried numerous times to use the scheduling software to have the lights come on and off automatically for the dark season. The programming disappears immediatly on leaving the program. also it appears to only work from a distance of about 10 foot or 3 meters. I sent a message to the company but have received no response as of a week later. Note that the enclosed screws and plastic clips are small, fragile and if you are doing many turns or corners are not sufficient. I will try to find a timer that works with these light strips and post if I find one. I would absolutely buy these again even given the above frustrations.

I ordered two sets and used them on both levels of my home. I like that I can run both sets at the same time from the app. I did notice that since I cut on set shorter than the other when I slide the color wheel one color is true to the wheel and the shorter strip changes colors faster along the wheel. I am guessing due to higher voltage with less LEDs attached. But when your running solid colors they seem to work just fine. When installing I found the plastic clips to be much more trouble than they are worth and just stapled the strip carefully to the inside of my eves.

Would have been nice if these would have come with adhesive tape on back. I used my own 3M adhesive tape along with the supplied clips. So took a little bit longer to install on eaves via going up and down a ladder for 60 odd feet. Would be nice if the App (Lotus Lantern) actually worked most of the time, The scheduling part (turn on and off) fails every day. Lights are nice and bright. Overall, not bad, if you could use another app or fix Lotus Lantern, that is called out would be real good.

Lights are well-made and easy to install. This specific light strip comes with clips but they are a little flimsy so I was extra careful when screwing them into the receiver- definitely avoid over tightening them! We used these for around the pool to create a subtle ambiance and mood to the pool at night. I was please by the variety of customizable options on the app and the remote. I see there is a 50 % off coupon available now and this would have made them a steal for the value so if youre on the fence, now is your time to get a good product for a stellar deal. I however purchased these before the deal so I am a little disappointed in that but timing is everything when it comes to shopping for deals. Overall, I would recommend this product if youre looking for a fun easy way to jazz up your outdoor space. If you want something high tech and durable I can't confirm that these lights will work for you since I haven't had them for very long- let's just hope they hold up!
