Our short walkway to the front door needed better lit, and so I started searching and I found these lights! I love that they plug in since it’s in the shade, I love the flexible, swaying design and the cute little circle balls on the lights, and the set up was so easy! The different settings were a nice idea, but all the blinking ones seem alarming in the dark. All the lights blink at the same time, and not separately which would’ve been neat. The only other setting we’d consider using besides “always on” would be the “slow glow”. We’re using a timed plug-in with them outside, there’s no sensor for light which would also be nice. The instructions were easy to figure out and they worked coming out of the box. A little taller that I had anticipated, but made them work. The directions on stirring up the dirt before putting in the ground is good behand information. If you purchase, do dig up the dirt a little before inserting, will make sliding in easier. I got these after wasting my money on the solar ones. These are easy to install. Just lay out the whole system (wires), noting where the connectors are, before you try to install. The diagram included is helpful. I saw that people complained about the pointy plastic ends coming off easily. For me, it was just as easy to push them into the ground without them. I find I keep moving mine around to get the balance right. Love them. ... show more

    • Excellent solution to dark PNW winter days
I like the firefly lights, they are fun and easy. These are much brighter than any solar version and while solar works well in the long summers, the big dark of the winter in the PNW doesn’t do well. These solve the problem. There is no instruction on the 8 modes, you just have to click through them and have patience. I wish the master control cable had a cap you could put on the second plug in lead, to seal it from the weather. I am only using one of them. I have also put these on a smart outlet so I can time them on and off to keep them from running 24/7 ... show more

This is a very solid outdoor "firefly" light set. I ordered this set to compare with and supplement a solar-powered small pair of firefly lights I currently own. The benefit of those lights is that they are free-standing and you can move them independently of one another because they don't need to be plugged into an outlet. This current system is extensive, though it is wired throughout. On the plus side, the way the system is wired, you can "choose your own adventure" to some extent by picking how many links you would like to go in either direction from the main plug-in point. I am using these on a front patio of my apartment that has one outlet, however it is off to one side and not centered against the house or exterior wall. Thus, my setup is "lopsided," with a trio of lights going to the right and 5 sets of lights going to the left. This flexibility will be super handy for folks who don't have symmetrical gardens, especially. The lights are quite bright, but not off-putting. There are 8 modes that flicker or fade in and out at various frequencies. Personally, I am only a fan of either having the lights fully on the entire time they are plugged in or using the slowest transitions setting for the lights to turn off and on so it looks like a soothing firefly colony blinking in peaceful unison. The system is a bit gangly to put together at first, as a side effect of having so many individual set to work with I presume. Have some patience and healthy expectations that there will be a bit of start up assembly but it will be rewarded once you have done so. ... show more

This firefly light is a nice addition to my outdoors garden. It has 8 small lights in each of the 6 groups. The cable is super long so the lights can be kept apart. Also it has 8 modes that let you decide which light pattern you want to keep.

I'm very surprised I didn't read anywhere in other reviews about how the very long cord length coupled with the tiny gauge causes a large power drop.... Made sense right away after I plugged it in and saw how dim the furthest lights became. Two stars because the lights work, but in order to get rid of this problem you'd have to cut and splice out all the extra wire you weren't using. ... show more
