I bought two of these for use in a musical production to pick up singing by the larger cast on stage and also to record the cast/chorus for one scene for playback. These did a great job. They are small and have great hangers and long cords. They are probably not top of the line, but they did great. A note about using stage mics for live performances. We used a graphic EQ with these to find and remove the feedback frequency for the mics and hall, so we could get more gain out of them. They were perfect for recording a group of about 30 people. So far so good. Sound quality is excellent. Sounds as good or better as compared to much more expensive brands. Hanging them is a bit of a pain. It’s a process to get them to hang in the direction you want them to. You kind of have to hang them let them hang a while and adjust as the cord settles in. This mic has tons of useful applications - orchestras, vocal, other performances. I have used this mic for everything from string sections to comedy performances. The sound is great but it picks up whatever is going on in the vicinity of the mic - for example, when hanging for an orchestra make sure that any air vents are not in the vicinity and make sure that any air streams don't cross it's path or else you'll end up with a crazy wooshing sound for the price. I have used seven of these microphones for years hanging overhead to cover a 16' by 12' stage for children's productions. They really work well. It helps if the kids move directly in front of them for solos and longer lines, but they are still 2' - 3' feet away from the microphone, and can be heard clearly. ... show more
