    • Great bluetooth on-ear headphones
Sound quality: very good Battery life: excellent Comfort: very comfortable, but high headband clamping pressure Build quality: excellent Portability: pretty good I had my eye on these headphones for a while, but never pulled the trigger, as they are not cheap as far as these type of headphones go. I will be using this almost exclusively for media viewing on my tablet at night. I also wanted something semiportable for occasional travel. I will sometimes use them for music, although I own a high-end audio system for that purpose. I have 2 pair of Focal headphones for serious listening sessions. The sound quality is very good, although I do wish they had a little more volume to them. If you wanted that, you'll need to run them in wired mode and use a dedicated headphone amp. The bluetooth works very well, and the app allows equalization among other settings. It is not necessary to use the app to use the headphones. The bluetooth pairing was fast and painless. They are extremely comfortable. The material of the earcups and headband are high-quality. I find the headband clamping pressure to be higher than I like, but the headphones are so comfortable that I don't think it's going to be an issue. They are also comfortable while wearing eyeglasses. The joints appear to be well-designed and strong. I usually do not buy headphones that are foldable for this reason, as they just don't last, even when treated gently. I don't think that is the case here. Unlike some of the better bluetooth headphones out there, the control buttons are placed so that they're actually usable. Other high-end brands that I've owned had terrible ergonomics in this regard. The battery life seems excellent. After 1 week of daily use, the battery charge has hardly changed from a full charge. I bought a pair that were Amazon reconditioned. They appeared lightly used, but not in like-new condition. The product description made it seem like they were either open-box or unused and repaired.     • Best entry level high end headphones
One of the best bang for your buck high end headphones. Sound quality is as good as the wried version and comfort hasn't changed at all. Easy enough to stash away in a backpack or larger purse while traveling or just leave them around your neck. Charging can be done with any USB c and is fairly quick. Battery life is good and can last a fair while on standby if there's no active playback. I've used them for work calls and while traveling. If needed there's adapters to make them wired again but those can be kinda cludgy. ... show more

    • Threw away the box! buying an extra pair for the apocalypse!
While not equipped with active noise cancelling these are about 20% more isolated from external noise in comparison to the ATH-M50X and that makes a world of difference. The sound quality is the same as the ATH-M50X which remains unmatched but the reduced outer noise gives the sound depth and makes is crispier, you can hear things you can’t hear using other headphone twice the price of this.     • Very pleased with these bluetooth headphones
These headphones are very nice sounding, comfortable and have great battery life. I am super-pleased with these. Some headphones can be too bass heavy or the highs can be too high which can be irritating and nerve-racking, but these are quite neutral which is a good thing in my opinion. I have an iPhone and downloaded their app and it has an equalizer where you can adjust the sound to better suit your personal preference. I did adjust the equalizer and I really like it better than the default setting, so I recommend that you check the app out. These are not noise-cancelling headphones but the padding is pretty thick and does block a lot of noise. I have a very loud air condition unit outside my window and this really does a nice job blocking out most of the noise. I've had these for almost two years(bought in April 2022) and use them almost every day and they are holding up very well. For the record, I don't throw them around, etc. I think these would fit most people's heads. I have a large head and can expand them to fit me fine. These are not the lightest headphones, but I think they are comfortable and I wear them hours at a time. I wear them inside so I never get too hot. They are over-the-ear headphones so they might get warm but for me it hasn't been an issue. I might occasionally take them off for a minute or crack the seal to let some air in. Privacy note: They do have an option in the app where you can turn off data sharing. It did surprise me to find out that Audio-Technica collects information about my usage, but other companies do this too, like Bose. The Audio-Technica app does say the data collected is not personally identifiable. Anyway, I just thought I would mention this for those of you who are privacy minded. ... show more

I don’t usually leave reviews, but these headphones deserve every bit of praise. The Audio-Technica ATH-M50xBT2 absolutely exceeded my expectations. SOUND QUALITY: The audio is simply incredible — rich, detailed, and balanced. The bass is tight and punchy without being overwhelming, mids are clear and natural, and highs are crisp without harshness. I can pick up nuances in my music that I never noticed before. Whether it’s casual listening, mixing, or watching movies, these deliver studio-quality sound. BLUETOOTH PERFORMANCE: Seamless connection with my devices (both Android and Windows PC). The low latency is noticeable — movies and YouTube videos stay perfectly in sync, and I haven’t experienced a single dropout. Plus, multipoint pairing is a great bonus. COMFORT: Super comfortable even during long listening sessions. The ear pads are soft and the headband has just the right amount of clamping force. I can wear them for hours without fatigue. BATTERY LIFE: Battery life is phenomenal. I get days of use on a single charge, and USB-C charging is fast and convenient. BUILD QUALITY: Solid and durable — typical Audio-Technica craftsmanship.     • Sound Is solid, but durability has been its downfall
TLDR: The EQ on these is pretty flat, sound Is good/great, long term durability is sketchy, Bluetooth didn't work, however you may have different results than I did. I want to like these headphones more, but the fact is, I really have not been impressed by how these have performed over the past couple years I've had them. I ordered these brand new in 2022 and by Spring 2024 I'm needing to look for new headphones. Several things along the way have broken/needed to be replaced such as the aux cord that the ATH-M50xBT2 came with, the leather flaking off of the pads causing them to need to be replaced, and a tab preventing the earcup from flaring out off the side of your head, but the final straw was just today when my left earcup stopped producing sound. I've tried looking for options to fix this issue, but they all involve resoldering wires, which was not what I signed up for when buying these headphones. Another thing I couldn't figure out with these headphones was the bluetooth. Over the time that I've owned them, I followed all steps needed from the official manual to pair them as well as trying Youtube tutorials, to no avail. That is likely an issue with my set specifically, you may not encounter that issue, but I feel it important to state nonetheless. Overall, I am a bit disappointed with the build and bluetooth quality on the ATH-M50xBT2, especially from a reputable brand such as Audio Technica. As it has been almost 2 years since I bought these, and since I opted out of a product protection plan, I likely will have to bite the bullet and shell out for a new set of headphones. ... show more
