  • A superb "entry level" Cartridge
Style: Cartridge
I mounted this in my vintage Garrard Zero 100c turntable....it sounds great and tracks at a mere 2 grams...will be very easy on the records!

  • Shockingly good sound for the cost
Style: Cartridge
Wow, installed this cartridge yesterday, and am really impressed with the overall dynamics and clarity of the sound produced. I went for a more value focused cartridge as this was a replacing a Ortofon blue cartridge that had a broken stylus, and I can say this thing is a ton brighter, and a lot cheaper than that cartridge. At any rate - YMMV, but worth a look. ... show more

  • Great Cartridge
Style: Cartridge
This cartridge has good audiophile reviews. The body is universal between four different stylus types. This is the green version that has an elliptical diamond. Many consider the elliptical diamond to do a better job tracking complex material. I installed it on my JVC semi-automatic turntable and am using a DJ phono amp, an Onkyo TX-SR 645 5.1 Receiver and 6th generation Monitor Audio Silver 300 speakers. To my ear this cartridge sound great! My vinyl is in very good condition and sounds as good as any of my digital audio sources with the added dimension of analog vinyl. Are there better cartridges out there? Yes, a few but you will pay 5 to 10 times as much and hardly notice the difference. I’m very satisfied with this cartridge. ... show more

  • A good budget cartridge
Style: Cartridge
Same brand as the old one that was 80s high end I damaged but not quite as clear of sound. It is a solid cartridge don't get me wrong. Good soundstage, tracks well. Requires a bit more tracking force than my old one at 1.75 - 2.5 grams. It would have been good if it came with a installation protractor paper, I had to find & download one. ... show more

  • A GREAT SOUNDING CARTRIDGE - NICE UPGRADE FROM MY 7+ YEAR OLD AT95E
Style: Cartridge
I debated for months over whether this ATVM95 would be a noticeable enough improvement from my old AT95E to warrant spending this much money on a cartridge that I know was around $45 just a few years ago. But I was definitely onboard with the idea of a cartridge that had more output, a much better upgrade path via a variety of different styluses, and FINALLY after decades someone addressed the goofy situation of having to fiddle with tiny little nuts, bad enough the nylon washers want to disappear if you just breath too hard. Having threaded inserts really is one of those engineering ideas you keep asking yourself "why did this take so long to change"?? Anyway, I know its subjective but along with the mentioned improvements I have to say this cartridge does indeed deliver in the sound department, it sounds clearer and more defined than my old 95E, and I always loved that cartridge so I wasnt keen to swap it out for some years, but after reading reviews and seeing the engineering changes in both sound and ease of mounting curiosity got the better of me and im glad it did it sounds great -- (Orto-who-?) My only caveat is on one hand I know this cartridge was at least $20 cheaper a few short years ago and as much as I like Audio Technica I feel like its over priced - BUT im hearing that AT is getting some customers from the big "O" contingent as they feel the dollar value and some even say the sound is better - though this is partly objective depending on whose ears are listening. Good job AT im very pleased with my VM95, and if anyone is considering this one I think its a good product. JMO ... show more
