With all the forest fires being set around the world these days, I want to be able to strap a shovel, rake, and Pulaski, as well as a couple fire blankets and at least one full-size fire extinguisher on my 2026 UForce 800XL, when we're in the field. (I lived on the West Coast, and fought enough fires to never forget.) For that reason, I was hoping to be able to mount these tool brackets to the back of the cab of our UTV. In order to mount them as originally hoped, it turns out I would have to cut a notch, for each, through the plastic of the rear roof support - which I'm not yet ready to do. I may be able to mount them to the bottom bar, just forward of the dump box, but clearance would be tight, when lifting the dump box, if they would even mount to that heavily modified lower bar. More likely, I'll get some type of Molle panel, or similar, (which I was already shopping for) across the rear of the cab, and mount these brackets to that. Regardless, I will be keeping these. I'm very impressed with how sturdy and well-designed they are. One way or another, I'm sure they will end up mounted on my UTV, (or that of one of my friends,) after I finish planning the upgrades. With our large, remote, heavily wooded acreage, our UTV has to double as a back-country fire truck. Well-chosen equipment, including sturdy brackets like these are part of that solution.

It claims bars as small as 1". That is what the rack on my ATV is. The smallest inserts wouldn't grab on. It would get snug but wouldn't keep itself in position. I'd bet the next size bigger bar, or one more set of rubber inserts would solve this. The metal was nice and thick. It was powder coated nicely as well. The foam portion that protects from scratching looks like it will fall off in a week. I feel in my situation this is a 1 star product. But in the right scenario it could be a 2 star unit.
