I bought this radio after being severely disappointed in the equivalent radio from pioneer. This was a super easy install and set up. It boots right to apple carplay(as long as you don’t disconnect the battery). I didn’t even have to run a microphone. It had one built in that works great(I was skeptical at first but it is good). Over all the build quality of the radio is good. Screen resolution is on point and the UI is easy to work. No complaints from me besides connecting the Bluetooth for CarPlay is slightly confusing since there’s two Bluetooth options, but I figured it out.

UPDATE 2 more weeks later: The talksim prepaid sim card worked to give me LTE data on t-mobile. The APNs auto populated from the SIM card. And the atoto worked as a wifi hotspot. So, if you are on t-mobile or get a sim that uses t-mobile, then you can get LTE data. It's a wonderful device. I can use android auto. We just did a trip and used carplay with my wife's iPhone. And the kids can connect their tablets over bluetooth to share music. I have the steering wheel controls how I want them on a 2004 silverado. And I have the USB in the glove box with a high capacity thumbdrive with my mp3s. It's kind of amazing what you get for the price point. UPDATE 2 weeks later: I ended up re-ordering this radio after trying some other head units. It's nice and having full android with app store is great. That said, it will NOT WORK WITH AT&T subscriptions. The IMEI says "unsupported device" on AT&T's site. I tried swapping a sim card from a tablet into the atoto and setting up the APNs, but I could only get bars and never data. Further, AT&T flagged that sim and blocked its data. So, I had to call them to get my old tablet unblocked and back on the network. There are preset APNs for T-Mobile and the T-Mobile site says "partially supported." So, T-mobile might work. I'm trying a prepaid SIM card from TalkSim (ASIN B0D73RG84F). I'll keep trying to get the radio on the cellular network. But even in the absence of that data connection, I really like it as a head unit. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I wanted this to work SO SO bad. It's a really nice device. The flaw for me is you cannot add APNs and hence cannot get a cellular data connection. Problem 1: AT&T does not recognize the IMEI as being supported (on website and in a store). That's fine I can use an old or fake IMEI to get a sim card and manually add an APN. That's solvable. Problem 2: The settings are really buggy and the APNs do not persist. I put in an AT&T sim card and got the 4G and bars icons, but without the right APN there is no data. I tried using an AT&T APN from another AT&T tablet and the APN from the AT&T documentation. They would never stay in the settings, even after reboots and various methods of adding. In North America (USA) If you are on T-Mobile there are default configurations in the APN settings. I tried a lot of angles. It will probably work on T-Mobile out of the box. If you have another carrier like AT&T or Verizon that is not in the default APNs list, you will not be able to add the APNs to get a data connection. I worked with Atoto support via there website and they were very responsive within the constraints of timezones. I gave them all the technical details about the bugs and carrier bands. Hopefully, they fix this with a firmware update.

The ATOTO S8G2A74MS is one of the BEST head units I've used! The ATOTO S8 S8G2A74MS is amazing! The installation was really easy and the upgrade with ALL of the modern conveniences is super nice! I went from having an old-school CD player to the luxuries of always up-to-date navigation, dual Bluetooth, Wi-Fi hotspot, and the list goes on. I mean, just read the specs on this thing! I added the ATOTO AC-HD03LR backup camera with Virtual Surround-View and Live Rear-View, ATOTO AC-44P2 dashcam, and ATOTO AC-44F5 wireless steering wheel controller to complete my system! ATOTO's customer service is fabulous, the sound quality is terrific, and overall, I couldn't be more pleased. Do yourself a favor — just buy it!

This radio is far more than your average car radio its basically a smartphone in your dashboard! It has the ability to download your favorite, apps set backgrounds, browser the web , and much more. This is my second atoto radio and I will definitely be buying more in the future the interface is smooth and easy to navigate and customer service if very responsive to any and all questions you may have 10/10 would recommend!

Ease of Installation: The ATOTO S8 MS impressed me right from the start with its straightforward installation process. The included instructions were clear, and the wiring harness was well-labeled. Within no time, I had it securely mounted and connected to my 1997 Toyota Land Cruiser Sound Quality: The audio output is crisp and well-balanced for using the stock speakers. I am not an audiophile, but this delivered the sound quality I expected in other review. Wireless Apple CarPlay: Pairing my phone was seamless, and I love the convenience of not needing a physical cable. The touch responsiveness on the S8 MS screen is excellent, and navigating through apps feels intuitive. Whether I’m using Maps, Spotify, or responding to messages, the wireless CarPlay functionality works flawlessly. Bluetooth Calls: the ATOTO S8 MS falls short when it comes to Bluetooth calls. The call quality is disappointing. Conversations sound muffled, and there’s noticeable distortion. Even adjusting the volume or tweaking settings didn’t significantly improve the situation. Unfortunately, there’s no way to enhance call quality with an external microphone. I have search all the reddit forums to see how disable the internal mic on the unit and it's not possible. My 4th Atoto. All have been amazing! I upgraded this time only because I messed up the other one one of my favorite features is I can get a sim card for my tablet, pop it in the head unit, and it has its own internet. No fooling with android auto, or that silly apple crap
