I bought this Thor 4 640 1-10x, 640x480, for my AR-15 (5.56mm) to hunt coyotes. It was easy to sight after finding a proper heat source. I used alumminum foil tape (3 layers) to create a cross pattern on a piece of cardboard and the sun was my heat source :-). I was shocked that the taped showed up being cold while viewing through the Thor 4. I went coyote hunting twice and saw 7+ deer each time at a distance of anywhere between 200 and 400 yards. At 200 yards the deer were clear, consise images. At 400 yards I could tell they were deer by the way they moved but that's about it. The battery lasted several hours each night on a single charge and It was still 1/2 charged after my two hunts. Pros: Viewing from the Obsidian 4 app made it easy for others to view what I was watching. It did appear to loose connectivity via the wifi and had to restart the app a couple of times but we were jumping around on the screens and checking out other features so those could have been operator induced errors. Cons: I wish I could download the videos directly from the app without having to remove the micro SD card each time from the scope. The zoom feature appeared to have been done mostly in software verses a true Optic zoom but then again maybe all thermal scopes operate this way. ... show more

I purchased the Atn Thor 4 1-10 power higher resolution note at 1 power the thermal image looked great but as soon as you zoom in regardless of how much adjustments you make the picture distorts and becomes hazy. If you are adamant to purchase this scope I'd recommend buying one that better suits your power needs and treat it like a fixed scope for best picture clarity. Now let's talk about all the issues 1st off on the 1st day I used the scope the screen froze couldn't turn off followed all the steps listed on their website and got it to turn back on worked and froze up again finally turned back on and kept getting an error message and required factory reset each time requiring to be sighted in wasting ammo as the one shoot zero isn't going to take 1 shot. Take it out again a 2nd time walk in 2 miles boom scope shuts down (was 75% charged) now scope won't turn on and had to walk 2 miles in pitch black with a scope that cost around 2500 mounted on a gun I can't use because I can't see anything. Note my hunting partner was next to me with a pulsar that actually worked and never had an issue and pulsar being a 320 and the atn being 640 tell me why the pulsar looked twice as better when supposedly the Atn has twice the resolution bs. To me it seems like this company is dumping out cheap thermals with cheap electronics but charging the same as higher end scopes. Unless you have patience to deal with a lot of issues you may want to check other options. I saw negative reviews and assumed they were 1 offs or maybe individuals not electronically inclined but nope was I so wrong. They say you get what you pay for but obviously that doesn't apply with Atn seems like it's all about cheap parts more profit. I'm livid behind my experience because i was left our in a time of need and depended on a scope that cost a couple grand to be reliable and the company is not new but obviously has some improvements if all the bugs are fixed I would possibly consider in the future to try again but not at the prices they sell for spend a little more and go with something more reliable ... show more

The instructions are vague. Bought this with the ABL laser rangefinder, but cannot get it to zero because the laser is not visible at 20 yards. I can see it on objects maybe 10 yards away but not much farther away than that. the laser is so weak that it is imperceptible to the naked eye. Tried calling customer support, but they put me on hold for 30 minutes. It was nice they announced the wait time, but when by time came up after 30 minutes it went straight to a voicemail that was full. Seriously? The product may be great, but the tech support sucks and so far a miserable experience. ... show more

Bought the Thor 4 640 1-10 Digital zoom is worthless it pixelated so bad that zoomed into even 7x you couldn’t tell what you were looking at!!! Works okay at 1x mag but couldn’t really pick up a heat signature past 75 yards. I don’t know what the guys on YouTube are running but it certainly wasn’t this scope. Spend your money on some agm nods you will be able to see better. ... show more
