I bought this to try the hobby out about 9 months ago or more and I definitely chose the right forge. Very easy setup and good quality. I have made multiple knives and several metal projects with this and had 0 issues, I recommended it to a friend who has had a similar experience. No issues with heating etc. You WILL need to buy rigidizer before using the first time and if you want to extend the life of the blanket, you will need refractory cement. I have been blacksmithing as hobby for ten years, have had two coal forges and two self made propane forges I have the two burner model. assembly was very easy heats quickly with no issues. I you price out the components of this forge- regulator-hose with splitter-kaowool-burner tubes- sheet stainless= hinges -latches etc the price of this unit is amazingly low. heats better and quicker than either of my two home made forges. ... show more

When it first arrived and was put together, it wasn't working correctly. It constantly sputtered and would not get hot enough to heat the piece of rebar I was going to try it with. The air flow tubes got over heated and discolored but the metal inside stayed black and didn't turn red even after 30 minuets. After some You tube research found out the air/propane mix was wrong, and the fire wasn't staring in the forge but in the air tubes causing the overheating and discoloration. The simple DYI fix was making a sleave out of aluminum tape (sticky side out) that I could slide up and down the tube to control the oxygen/propane mix. A bit small in my opinion but man does this thing heat up metal fast. The double doors makes it super efficient to use. I can close both or one or even leave them open and still get great heat from it. Set up was super easy, had it done in about 2 minutes.

Works just fine, however, it states twice in the description that it don't need ridgidizer but the flyer that acts as a user's manual states that it's recommended (see photo). The instructions are a double sided flyer that's pretty pointless. No instructions for how to light it for the newbie. Seems solid construction and heat treated Mt blade just fine. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Works great for what I need it for, hobby knife making. Let it heat up 3 minutes empty and it brings steel to a cherry 🍒 in no time. Definitely worth the little $$$ it costs..
