I've been using these for over a year now and they have served me very well. You just have to understand their limitations- the main one being that you don't want to drop them on the floor. The other is that the max weight is 27.5 lbs. So yes, if you're very strong and you like going to failure, you might be a little disappointed. However, if you're an average person like me and just want to get in a decent home workout, these could be perfect for you. The adjustment mechanism is easy to use and the weight increments make a lot of sense. They start out with 2.5-lb increases with the lower weights and jump up to 5-lb increases at the higher end. You can do anything you would do with normal dumbbells- bench presses, shoulder presses, curls, triceps extensions, rows, flys, lunges, etc. The plates do move around a little bit, which can be scary at first. However, I've never had one fall out on me and over time you will develop trust in the equipment. I do feel like they aren't perfectly evenly weighted, meaning that you'll want the two red bar things aligned when you're doing your exercises. Maybe that's all in my head. In my mind those things are a small price to pay for the space and money you save with these. Here's my setup- I have a squat rack and associated bar/plates for heavy, going-to-failure type of workouts and then I have these in the corner for high-rep stuff or for when I'm not going to failure and don't feel like swapping out plates all the time. Yes, I know that's a weird, lazy thing to avoid when I'm trying to work out, but that's how the human mind works sometimes. These really make my home gym a lot more versatile and they take up almost no space. The price is very low to compare to other expensive one out there , but you just have to think about how much it would cost to buy all the dumbbells you would want. Then you might buy something like a 12.5-lb dumbbell not knowing if you'll ever actually use that one or not. Also, think about how much a monthly gym membership costs, plus the associated transportation. Not to mention the time wasted going back and forth to the gym. If you get these plus a good quality bench (don't go cheap on the bench), you're going to be able to stay in shape if you're motivated to do so.

Color: 88LBS Pair
First thing first. I got the 88lb version, and THEY ARE HEAVY! No doubt that they are 88 lb each. The mechanism is really easy to use. The dial is smooth and click into place with nice feedback. The plates are secured very well, and I don't believe it can accidantally fall out. If you don't have enough space for a rack full of dumbbells or if you can't afford a full set, then this is a really nice alternative. The only reason for a 4 star is that the plates rattle a little when clipped on the bar. It is necessary to have some wiggle room for easy swap but I would like the plates to be more snug without rattle. Be aware that the dumbbell is pretty bulky even if you do low weight because the plates are big. It is more comvenient to have regular dumbbell below the 30 lb range because they are usually a lot smaller.

Bummed they don’t sell singles anymore because I want to buy a second weight.

I received my order about a week ago and found one of the two weights I ordered, a bottom weight holding tray (plastic) was partially broken. Since the weights were not damaged, instead of contacting Amazon to send the whole unit back for replacement, I contacted the vendor directly to see if they were willing to send the replacement bottom tray. I thought that was a win-win situation. The vendor responded promptly and I just received the replacement tray yesterday via DHL express service (from China). I haven't really used the weights yet, LOL. But these are actually 2nd sets of these weights I ordered. I bought a set in last summer for my son and I really liked how it felt. They feel very comfortable to hold and the weight distribution is awesome. I have to say it's a bit pricey but I think it's the value if they lasts. Only time will tell. The locking mechanism seem to work well and hopefully they will not wear out to be dangerous. But so far so good.

These are great, very well designed and easy to use. I’m a runner and use them to cross train. Very easy to adjust and don’t take up much room. With these and a foldable bench I have a complete gym that only takes up a small space in the corner of my bedroom. Had to stop going to the gym due to Coronavirus and this setup works just as good. Great product, I would give it 10 stars. My wife is 69 and I’m 71, we have been lifting and running for 35 years so we know what works and what is junk. These adjustable dumb bells are well designed and very compact. The quality and price are more than I expected when I ordered them. Thank you for a really great product that actually works as described.
