I got this to replace another phone of the same model. It's easy to set up, and the instructions are easy to follow. The buttons are easy to press, and are back lit, so they're easy to see in any light. The sound is good. It is Good quality. I would recommend this phone.

I was shocked when one of my colleagues said, "You should get a home phone." I already have a home phone, it's laying here on my desk, sometimes it's in my pocket, it even goes to the bathroom with me. My cable company gives you a discount for taking the home phone service with your cable and internet. Believe it or not, it would make my bill go up if I dropped it. I chose this cordless phone because I didn't want voicemail and I've always had good luck with AT&T products. It works very well but it has a few annoying parts that made me take a star off. I have had this phone for 7 months and still have no idea how you adjust the ringer volume. I've read the pamphlet. I even once got it to work and turned the volume all the way down so now it barely makes any noise (probably better that way). It does light up when it rings and I have it on my office desk so the ringing volume isn't that important but for others it might be. I haven't tried most of the features since I'm only using it for business calls. The call volume is excellent but I will say it takes some getting used to using a receiver like this when you're used to cellphones. All in all, it gets the job done and is a good buy for the price. ... show more

I bought these AT&t phones through Amazon warehouse. This was my first experience using Amazon warehouse and I was really pleased and surprised. The telephones were listed as like new and they truly were. The box had absolutely no damage and it appeared that had never even been opened. The plastic cellophane was on the handsets the batteries were unopened and unused and everything was flawless. I don't believe anybody ever touched these phones except for me and that somebody just changed their mind and returned them for whatever reason. As for the phones themselves this is a tremendous set because you get three phones and an answering machine. My old phone that I had bought an emergency was not expandable and I did not realize that at the time. Since I live in a house with two floors it was a pain in the neck to have to keep running up and down the stairs when the phone rang so now I have three like I am accustomed to from the past and it is so much easier. To set these up was a breeze. Everything was very self-explanatory so I didn't even have to use the little self-help manual that teaches you what to do. It was very easy to set the volume the time and to record my own message although there is a pre-recorded message available if you choose to use it. The phones have big numbers on them so it's easier to see for us older folks and they're all backflip which is a plus. My old phone didn't even have a speaker phone so how basic is that. There are times and you really need to put somebody on speaker phone and this phone also has an intercom system so that you can have more than one person on listening at a time or you can go and use the other phone and pick up and finish your conversation from one floor to the next from one phone to the next. So far I am really pleased at the quality of these phones. They are lightweight compared to the older phones but that is to be expected these days. Everything seems to be made much later weight. I don't know how long they will last but the AT&t has always been a good brand and I hope that these will last me for many years. ... show more

Needed a phone just for cablevision Just what I needed first phone plugs into modem second about 100 away in kitchen. Great sound mute ring button easy install power supply with plug so u can slip it through a small hole in a desk power on light so u know it’s on. Happy with the phone!!

Below is my initial rating shortly after purchasing this set, not totally satisfied, but at that time, semi satisfied, but the longer I use them, I'm finding them to be horrible. There are intermittent times where the background hissing and static are much worse than other times, and sometimes, weird screeching noises with someone else's conversation bleeding through, something I didn't think was supposed to happen with DECT 6.0 and has not with my other similar units. Also, the phone case itself is very flimsy. The cap to the battery compartment on the handsets come off easily, often have to go find where it came off and snap it back in. There are also times where I can hear my wired landline ring and this cordless either doesn't ring at all, or there is a few seconds pause before it rings, again something I've never had happen with my other cordless phones. I wish I had not bought this now. Always really liked AT&T products, but this set has really given me a sour taste in my mouth. Its not worth returning, even if it was still within the return period because of all the effort you have to go through to set it up and get it working, so I will just eat the cost, perhaps sell it at the local consignment shop when I find something better. Previous rating comments below: I replaced an old AT&T 3 set cordless phone set with this one. The old set was model 82318 which is no longer available and this set seems to be the closest replacement to it. AT&T phones are overall top notch, but I am finding these newer phones not as good as the older set. Comparisons: More background static and hissing, even when close to the base unit. Going only 30 or 40 feet away, you can still use it, but there is noise and patchy reception. The old set had useful features that this one does not, such as external buttons to control phone and ringer volume. With this, you need to navigate through the set up menu, so if you are talking to someone and want to turn the volume up or down, you cannot. The old set had external jacks so you could plug in a handsfree headset if you wanted, this one does not. When you press the keys on the new set, there is a delay before the tone is generated, and you can easily double dial a number because of that. The old set the buttons responded with an immediate tone, never had problems dialing. The old set came with belt clips which you could use if you wanted to, or remove them if not. Not included in this set. There are a few features on the new set that the old one didn't have such as date and time of day in the display, set by caller ID on incoming calls and keeping current time. Also, the old set did not show how much battery time you had left, this one has that. The backlight on the display is better on the new set. Since I was so happy with the older model and it lasted so many years, I assumed this would be equal or higher quality, but I was wrong. Had I known, I might have shopped around a little more and looked at other models and brands and their respective reviews. ... show more
