Very pleased with this purchase. The laptop is sufficiently zippy although I went ahead and maxed out the RAM and added a SSD immediately which of course increased the performance of the machine. The keys are quiet and easy to type on. I personally like mechanical keyboards better but as far as feel I think the typing experience is pretty good for a laptop. The touchpad can get in the way if you have bigger hands but you can turn it off and utilize a bluetooth mouse easily enough. The gestures are a nice touch and once you get used to the Asus gestures it can be very functional and enhances the overall use of the laptop. The screen is a great size for me. This all depends on the individual however. I used to love the 13.3" screens and certainly those are great laptops for those on the go. I personally love the 14" and 15" screens a little more now just because it is easier on the eyes as far as visual landscape goes. The video card is not for gaming but it does help with overall speed. I don't actually have any games on here so I can't comment on its capability but I would like to say that it could run some games without too much interruption. Windows 10 is Windows 10. It has its good points and it's bad points but the machine is fully capable on the Linux side as well. The USB 3.0 slots are nice although I wish that there were a few more features like a display port available. The fingerprint reader can be finicky but I think most of them can be just that. The battery life is outstanding. If you're frugal with your power settings you can be away from a plug for quite some time and even the bloatware battery manager helps by functioning to charge and discharge the battery which helps in extending its life. I don't notice the weight but I'm sure some people might say that it is on the heavier side. Given the package that it comes with I think the increase in weight is worth it. The price point was also spot on. It is a very capable machine and for the price it's hard to beat. The build quality on my previous Asus Pro was a little bit better but it was also heavier so they decided that the tradeoff was worth it I suppose. The texture is easy on the hands but it can show fingerprints quite easily. Overall I am very pleased with my purchase and I feel that it will continue to be a worthy investment into the future. ... show more

I don't know what I'm more frustrated with: Windows 10 (I miss XP Pro) or this ridiculous touch-pad that has far too many features that get in the way of productivity and function. And unless you really want / need a number pad keyboard, don't get it. At the end of the day, this laptop does perform as advertised and is light, great battery life and does the best it can with what it has to work with. But being Windows 10, it's crippled out of the gate. A MacBook Pro with Parallels will run circles around this thing and that is a fact. But it will cost about 3 times as much so bang for the buck, this is very good computing power. ... show more

The screen has a poor refresh rate (blacks will blur away into white as you scroll) -- but most significantly, if you're looking to do any artwork, the color and brightness vary by vertical viewing angle to such an extent that you can't view the entire screen without darkening bands. The trackpad was overly sensitive, firing the right click non-stop, even once I put the sensitivity settings to the lowest level in Windows. Everything up to this point has exceeded my expectations and the laptop runs nicely. However, it’s now been 1 year and 2 weeks since I purchased it, and the motherboard completely failed and the laptop is toast... and it’s only 2 weeks past the manufacture warranty
