(1) Amazing OLED screen. Yeah, you want this. So bright, so much contrast. Better in person. It looks vivid, video just looks more life-like, it’s nice. Has a little reflection but I prefer the more substantial-feeling glossy coating on this screen to a squishy matte LCD. (2) Design is great, particularly for the price. The whole laptop feels pretty solid…maybe not MacBook or Surface Laptop solid, as there is a little bit of flex, but all-metal case feels and looks premium and sturdy. So thin…yeah there’s the spec, but in person it is super-thin. Even the rubber feet are compact — some other brands have HUGE feet—almost legs—under the keyboard, making it harder to pack. Love how the lid opens solidly and easily, love the IR camera which works great, and love all the ports. Ordered a high endurance micro SD for direct transfers from my DLSR. Sure, I’d prefer a headphone jack but no big deal, it ships with a USBC to 1/8” dongle and the very similar Apple dongle works great for folks like me who want a reliable wired audio option. It also ships with an Ethernet dongle, but who does wired Internet on the go anymore. Keyboard feels fine, good enough. I agree with some reviewers that the power button could be separate from the keyboard, I disabled it for sleep in Windows, plan to use the lid or command. (3) Performance is solid. I am not a gamer, but 4K video output looks great, AMD Ryzen 5700U is fast and cool, and fan is typically low. Was nervous about how 8GB might be in Windows11 but it’s fine for my use case, don’t feel pressure to get 16GB unless you know you need it. Warranty — My purchase offered a year of Accidental Damage Protect for free if you register with ASUS. Was hard to see if it took effect on the web site, but confirmed in a chat with customer service that it was active. Also, as a disclaimer, ASUS will give you 90days more warranty for submitting a review. They stated you can be honest in your review, and I am, but I admit I was more motivated to submit this than I usually am… Overall—still can’t believe how much is packed in for this Amazon price point. Such a nice design, so compact and thin, gorgeous video, plenty fast, ports to spare. I have had 3 past Asus monitors I couldn’t kill…if this laptop is as half as reliable as those items have been, I will be extremely satisfied with this purchase. ... show more

Being an adult is hard, sometimes. I NEEDED a compact and light laptop with plenty of horsepower but feature creep is usually an issue and I end up buying a lot more than i actually need. I use my notebook for onsite service calls a few times a week, I own a networking and internet company. I have a monster desktop that I do almost all of my work on, the laptop is just a part time thing that rides around in my backpack most of the time. I looked at all the fancy larger laptops which were tempting, but again, I don't need a gaming graphics card or massive storage. I needed this Zenbook. I have been amazed at the performance of this machine. It shipped with Windows 10, which lasted long enough for me to update the bios, hook up a usb drive, and install Linux. Everything works. No strange devices, everything just worrks out of the box with the 5.16 kernel and later. Very thin and light at 2.5 pounds. Very tough aluminum case, that doesn't creak when you put pressure on it. Very well constructed. The screen is stunning. Honestly, it has the best screen I've seen on a laptop ever, including macbook pros. The touchpad is HUGE and not overly sensitive, has a good positive click feel, and is very slick and easy to use. Works with gestures. It comes with a usb C to headphone adapter, and a usb to ethernet dongle. Wifi and bluetooth are perfect in linux, i use the bluetooth for a headset for both music and communication. All in all, this notebook gets a 10 out of 5. I've had it for two weeks and its has exceeded all expectations. ... show more

Great laptop. Screen looks amazing when browsing but blacks can get pixelated looking in videos but that has a lot to do with video source material I presume, though I haven't been able to find a way around that problem despite a bunch of configuring. All the other coloring is great looking though. Screen is very reflective however so can be bad in some ways (can see your own face if there's light behind you). Having option for numbers on touchpad is more annoying than it's worth because they're hard to press and sometimes I turn that option on accidentally. I'd probably use it more for browsing or photo viewing since video source material will always have pixelated blacks in dark scenes from what I can tell. Near zero bezel is awesome on the screen portion. The audio is the best I've heard though on a laptop. That part amazes me. The sound sounds like it's all around you, I don't know how they managed that. Fan is quiet and cpu is fast. For media, it's hard to say oled is better than ips on this for streaming Netflix because of the pixelation on blacks but for browsing and audio this is a very enjoyable experience. This is the best screen on a laptop I have seen, and I’m coming from two MacBooks. The keyboard is comfortable, the sound is good, material feels really good, the port selection is good except for no 3.5mm ??? How dare you Asus hahaha, it makes no sense!!! I needed a new laptop and thought this would be a good replacement. Reviews were good and the specs were decent. It worked fine for 2 days when all of a sudden it restarted on its own 3 times. Then finally, it shut off and wouldn't turn back on. I'm sure it could have been fixed if I had sent it in, but for a new laptop, this shouldn't have happened in the first place.
