The laptop in question has mixed reviews, with varying experiences from excellent to poor performance. Users who managed to disable unnecessary pre-installed Microsoft apps reported significant improvements in speed and responsiveness, suggesting initial poor performance is software-related. The laptop is praised for its lightweight design, decent screen, and battery life but criticized for its sluggishness without modifications. It serves well for basic tasks like web browsing, email, school work, and general office applications when adjusted correctly.

Pros

  • 🚀 Significantly improved performance by disabling pre-installed Microsoft apps
  • 💻 Suitable for general use like web browsing, emails, and office tasks
  • 🔋 Good battery life and lightweight design, making it portable
  • ✅ Positive experiences when used for basic tasks and school work
  • ⌨️ Comes with a decent screen, keyboard, and has a numeric pad for ease of use

Cons

  • 🐢 Initially sluggish and slow, requiring tweaking for acceptable performance
  • 🛠️ Necessity to manually uninstall pre-installed software for better usability
  • 🕒 Slow start-up and sometimes struggles with multitasking
  • 💔 Some users feel the need to switch to different devices for efficiency

Should I Buy It?

If you're looking for a budget-friendly laptop for basic tasks and are willing to spend a little time tweaking settings, this could be a good option. It's not suited for heavy computing tasks but can be a decent choice for general use, especially after adjusting for the initial performance issues.

  • It's a PC
Works ok. Sometimes will not connect to WiFi says reset drivers. I don't do IT.

  • Makes Me Feel Like Smashing It Every Time I Use It
I am a Chromebook lover. Guilty as charged. Those machines are lightening fast, easy to connect, and never fail. The only real difference in the price points is due to screen size, battery, and touch screen capability. Why did I write about Chromebooks? Because they're everywhere that this machine isn't. The sole reason why I bought this is because most professors are dinosaurs and refuse to accept Google docs/sheets for assignments, so I needed something relatively cheap with MS Office. That was my only criterion. Well, it does have Office and it was fairly inexpensive. However, once I'm done with my classes, I plan to smash it à l'Office Space. It takes roughly 10 mins to connect, which would be annoying enough, but then you have to fight it to do anything at all. Bear in mind, once again, I am not playing games on this or watching films. Just trying to perform basic functions feels like pulling teeth. At this point, I complete all of my papers on my Chromebook via Google docs, then boot this slug up and just download my Google doc as a Word doc. That is literally the only thing it's good for. Save your money and either spend a bit more for something that actually works, or use your friend's desktop to transfer documents. This is utter rubbish. ... show more

  • It's a turtle but I can't be too choosy
This is about what I expected for the price point here, but going from my Ryzen 7 5800x and 48 gigs of Corsair Vengeance RAM to this potato is frustrating in all the worst ways. It can handle at most three open tabs in Chrome reliably, I attempted to open 25 tabs and the PC crashed. It's horrifically slow, from CPU to RAM to the WiFi card. That being said, the screen is pretty decent, I like the keyboard a lot, the touchpad is a decent size (I prefer larger touchpads) and the light weight is very handy. It's got a numpad which is a weird must-have for me, and it doesn't make the laptop massive to accommodate the additional space on the keyboard. The build quality seems nice so far and I appreciate the HDMI port on such a slim profile. All in all, it's exactly what I need, even though it's incredibly slow, I'm only using it to type out documents, check emails, and print shipping labels, so it's doing what I need, which is the bare minimum. I wouldn't recommend this laptop if you need to do any sort of actual work, it should be a subsidiary computer. ... show more

  • People are too harsh it’s great!
i see so many reviews saying it’s so slow and it sucks, it’s truly a great laptop considering the price point. i wasn’t expecting a super fast top of the line laptop BUT it has been preforming just fine, the battery compacity is good considering how small and light weight this laptop is, and has no issues loading up many things. i haven’t had any issues streaming content and it hasn’t frozen, there’s been a few things that took a short moment to load but it really isn’t as terrible as these reviews make it out to be! i would reccomend this for laptop for someone who needs a laptop for school/collage/classes and is on a budget! ... show more

  • EXTREMELY SLOW... until you fix it
I recently purchased this laptop and upon opening it started up and updated on its own perfectly fine how a new laptop should. After you get to the homescreen, it was completely unusable!! Extremely slow to the point you couldn't open any app or browser at all. Completely unacceptable for a new laptop on the market. I was ready to return and purchase another. Before I shut it down got it ready to be returned, I took some advice from the forums and deleted any and all Microsoft related programs. Microsoft teams, edge, anything that comes pre-programmed from Microsoft. I'm currently using Google Chrome as my default browser and not touching Microsoft edge at all. This will save your laptop and now it is running smooth like a laptop should. Completely fixed all performance and speed issues. Anyone who buys this laptop needs to ununstall all Microsoft programs off of the laptop because that is what is causing it to be extremely slow! Otherwise, you will have a nice smooth, easy to use laptop! ... show more

  • Great For General Uses
After looking at other reviews I decided to buy two of this model for my wife and I. After taking the advice from other reviews regarding turning off un needed windows apps on start up, this laptop is great! It is lightweight fast and the battery lasts a surprisingly long time AND it has a number pad which is a plus for me!. This laptop is a great deal for the price if all you need is a general use machine for searches, email, school or general work. I would recommend this to anyone looking to purchase, you won't be dissapointed! ... show more

  • This is my second one.
It's brand new - not refurbished/renewed - at a low price. It's great quality at a low price. It is easily switched out of "S Mode" although, with Microsoft Store have more products, that may not be important. These things are forgiving. Now I own two! It has Microsoft's crap ware - 365, one drive, etc... but these can be removed. After experiencing a C: drive failure years ago I never store any personal or treasured files on my computers so a single storage drive is fine with me. This laptop's drive is quite large enough. I use an external drive for all other storage. Yes, important files are backed up to other drives. ... show more
