  • Great Mini Laptop for Light-Duty Applications
This is a great mini laptop if you intend to use it for light-duty applications such as email, social media, internet browsing, internet shopping, Microsoft Word and Excel (Office 365), etc. It is not intended for heavy-duty applications such as gaming (good gaming laptops are $1,000+, not $150 to $200). The laptop does not have the processor speed, graphics card, memory or storage to handle high-demand applications. If you purchase the laptop for what it is intended for, your experience will be much better. The laptop is about as small as you would want if you are a touch typist and prefer a normal size keyboard. The keyboard provides good key travel and feedback and the touch pad can be used as a numeric key pad (a major plus for many users). As some of noted in their reviews, the keyboard is not lighted. However, the display normally provides enough light to use the laptop in the dark. Also, given the laptop's battery size, you would not really want the additional power draw on the battery. The battery will provide a good 10 to 20 hours of usage depending on what you are doing on the laptop. That said, when the laptop is shutdown, the battery does drain by approximately 20% each day. After several days of not using the laptop, you will need to plug it in to turn it on. This power consumption when shutdown is not so much a battery issue as an operating system setting. The laptop operates on Windows 11 S (intended for Microsoft approved applications) and it is specifically designed for quick startup. The startup time is similar to that of a Chrome Book. If you recall the small netbooks that preceded Chrome Books--this small laptop is a much better and much more capable netbook. For my purposes, I will gladly give up the additional battery life for the ability to quickly startup the laptop. The laptop has a great display. It is not a touch screen for those who want that feature. However, the display was clear, detailed and bright when watching highlights of the World Cup soccer games and when surfing the internet. The size and price of the laptop are very appealing--just make sure that you truly consider what you will be using it for. ... show more

  • Writing this review from the computer
I am actually writing this review from the computer. I bought it a few months ago and I am very impressed. For such an affordable laptop this has really exceeded my expectations. I use it almost every day whether it be editing videos, watching videos, buying things, cloud surfing, playing games, etc. This thing has held up and hasn't given me any issues. No, it is not as fast a Mac book or more expensive windows computer. But it has all the same capabilities. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a cost-effective laptop. ... show more

  • Nice little light laptop, 2022 edition model.
This laptop is basically the size I've been looking for! Remember when netbooks became all the rage? I do and I had a few of them due to the size and how quick they moved, but over time those laptops became useless. Then we got chromebooks, which was a good replacement, but the operating system was too limited. Now we have this Asus light mini laptop, its literally ALMOST perfect. Why is it not perfect? WELL, the internal drive is only 64GB and after its Win11 install, you can basically wave half that away, leaving you with not a lot of room. So I popped this open after reading there is an SSD upgrade slot and some folks claimed it wasn't there in the 2022 model. Mine had it, so either there is two different models for 2022, or people are not looking in the correct spot. BUT it was the first thing I did, even before powering it on, was check. Because no slot, it would have been an instant return for me. Drive/upgrade: I used the SSD slot to insert a 1TB drive, in which I in reinstalled win11 into, and then changed the boot order, formatting the internal drive, leaving me with 1TB working drive with a 64GB back drive. Battery life: I used mine for a few hours unplugged and then placed it in sleep mode when going to bed. I went to bed and it said 82% was left. I woke up after a good nights sleep, checked the laptop and it was at 69% percent. So roughly in 10 hours, it lost 13%. I really don't see that as an issue and based on my experiences windows laptops can't sit in standby or sleep mode for days at a time like an Apple Macbook, which you can leave unplugged for days and only lose a little percentage of battery. Performance: - I installed Opera (not GX) as I wanted the lightest browser I could find, but with some features, Opera won that. It ran smoothly and even gave me a VPN option on the browser. Had no issues surfing, while doing research for various things. - Youtube ran smoothly, the sound was good and loud for a such a little laptop. - Installed Obsidian Notes (ON), because I use it organize projects I am doing, taking notes for classes or whatever. I did notice a little stammering with ON here and there, but it wasn't a big deal or a deal breaker for me. - Installed GOG (Good old Games) which is a site for older video games of the past and played a few older '90s and '80s games with no noticeable issue. - I did notice with many tabs open in Opera or various programs open the laptop, it did slow down and did struggle a little. Overall: Good laptop for someone on the go who likes to surf the web, play light video games or possibly likes to run tabletop RPG games, because its perfect to keep notes in and bring it to your gaming table for a night of gaming. IF IT HAD NOT HAD THE UPGRADE SLOT, its a deal breaker. ... show more

  • Get what you pay for
doesn't really work. Takes forever to hook up to internet and only continues to not turn on or takes forever to even turn on. I know it's not my internet because my other computer works fine and my fiancés laptop works fine this is the only thing we have that refuses to connect and work. I was just going to use it for writing but it can't even do that. So just save up for a laptop that's more expensive but will work ... show more
