  • You buy and they own control, invade privacy, and manipulate administrator aithority.
Style: Laptop only
The first thing about this computer was a lack of privacy, when I logged on to my amazon account through this device all of a sudden Amazon kept asking me to prove I was my own account holder through my own devices. ALSO, MY PASSWORDS WERE BEING CHANGED MAKING VERY TEDIOUS THE RECOVERY OF MY ACCOUNT AMONG OTHER THINGS AS WELL SUCH AS BILLING ERRORS. Before I used this computer everything with Amazon was very smooth going. Then the computer requires you to begin an account with Microsoft and the tells you the account does not exist. I have been back and forth on this computer very many times. I am well acquainted with the use of computers. This computer puts the user through a bunch of unecessary steps to get anything done. I bought this computer for my child and we started the first email account and password for him and then were told the account doesn,t exist. This computer is seriously dysfunctional. The speeds are not consistent with advertising and the battery life is neither capable to manage a days worth of laptop running about 3 hours fully charged or as advertised. The sound chip is attacked a day after you start to begin using making no sound whatsoever and the pointer stops working on the second day. The computer seems to have an overcontroler which makes the computer not yours. Most changes you make to it are overridden by some unknown hand. Even when I am using separate accounts for my children and myself. It does not Apparantly give you the owner control of your own computer. It is designed for you to buy extra features which they are willing to sell you. There are very minimal apps esspecially for children. A very disappointing buy at $470. I am an experienced computer user. This computer has serious issues for which are very questionable for a computer which belongs to the owner. ... show more

  • Confusing
Style: Laptop only
So I have had this for a while and it works okay. It is pretty slow to do mostly everything. And for some reason my screen won’t turn on anymore. It was working all day and it ran out of battery. Now after being completely charged the screen isn’t responding to anything. It’s not turning on. All the lights work. If you want a cheap computer that works for maybe a year this would be it. It does pick up a lot of fingerprints and dust. Definitely not a good gaming computer. Everything else works great. ... show more

  • Plan on adding ram.
Style: Laptop only
This is a solid laptop for the price. One thing I highly recommend is adding a stick of ram. Tee laptop comes with 1 open ram slot so I added a 32 GB stick and it went from almost unusable to a great daily driver. With the stock of 4 GB ram, it was a chore to run even one program at a time. Adding a $40 stick of ram changed all that and I can run multiple programs with no problems now. The touchscreen is nice and responsive and works well with a smart pen (purchased separately). Battery life has been fine. Nothing to write home about but nothing to complain about either. In its stock state, I would not recommend this laptop. If you plan on adding more ram then it's a hell of a deal. Here is the ram I went with (DDR4 32GB Single 3200MHz PC4-25600 CL22 Unbuffered Non-ECC 1.2V SODIMM 260-Pin): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B089W78CVJ ... show more

  • Pros and Cons Review
Style: Laptop only
I made this purchase 6 months ago, and I am pleased. There is just one issue on this device, that neither Amazon or Asus could help me with. This laptop is sooooo! great, and multifaceted. One day, the backlit keyboard stopped working. I am one of those people who snuggles with their laptop and surf before going to bed; so the led keyboard is a necessity. When it occurred I was not ready for it and I chose not to make a a fuss. Why? Because this malfunction, could be a fault of the carrier. When the package is mishandled, or handled ruffly and dropped at the door instead of placed at the destinations door. For example: the arrows on the box often see with the phrase (Handle with Care) instructing the carrier to place, carry, and load this box right side up or this side up. Some people ignore these simple instructions because they have their own concept of what is okay, I guess. These actions do have an affect on electronic devices. Overall, this laptop is a keeper, but not for beginners. The touchscreen flows smoothly with good response, 360 hinge, compact, light weight, a fair amount of ports. Perfect for any artist, and still working great. Share this review and I do recommend this laptop. ... show more

  • Slow laggy only good for email if you’re patient
Style: Laptop only
Very nice looking product. Great display, nice convertible feature. I bought it so my son would have something to do his homework on. The speed does not exist. I have an older Asus X401, that we jokingly call the rescue laptop, because that’s exactly what it is. It was given to me broken. I fixed it, and first my wife used it, then the kids. Circa 2012. Slapped a $50 SSD in it and a new battery, like new machine. Fast forward to 2022, I bought this thing. My son, gave it to his younger sister. Now my daughter wants her old laptop back!! She’d rather use her 10 year old Asus than the new one!!! All I can say is pretty sad. I wish I’d known how pathetic this thing was when I first got it. Now I just need to give her back her old PC. I guess the best things in life are free. Maybe it’s Windows 11. I don’t know. But dang. I just can’t believe it. So much promise, so much disappointment. ... show more

So..this laptop is amazing. Totally amazing. The ability to flip the screen and turn it into a giant tablet is wicked cool. The touchscreen is responsive The computer speed and storage is top notch the keyboard is nice, and quiet keys. Has a backlight to make typing easier. when you flip the computer into tablet mode, it turns off the input from the keyboard. it allows for seamless transitions from laptop to tablet. i haven't found anything that i don't like about this laptop. it is a solid choice for students and typical household use. recommend!! ... show more
