Just got it today and build quality looks solid. Pros: - great specs for the price. - well built. - good choice of ports. - switch to hide camera. Cons: - you have to sign in with a Microsoft account (you can bypass by doing a clean Windows install - takes about 20 mins).

Its been a long time since I've owned a laptop and even longer since I purchased one. They have changed so much and its for the good. I had to get a pretty large laptop since I needed a qwerty with num keys but its still not like having a full keyboard since the num keys are crowded. Regardless it serves its purpose and is still useful. The screen is lovely and the sound is pretty amazing compared to what I was used to from the past. The case is nice and its very thin. My only real gripe is the lack of usb ports. There are 2 legacy and one usb-c. I would have loved one more usb 3.0. Ultimatly, its a good product and I'd do it again. ... show more

I recently added another ASUS laptop to my collection, making it three from this brand in the past year alone (all bought from Amazon). My latest purchase was meant to be an upgrade, but it's been a letdown. Firstly, the DDR4 RAM in this model feels painfully sluggish compared to the DDR5 in my ASUS TUF. This is a critical flaw, especially when you're paying a premium for what's touted as a high-end processor. The cooling system is another disappointment. There's only one fan, leading to inevitable power restrictions for the CPU and GPU. It's baffling that a more expensive model would perform only marginally better than its older counterpart, the TUF 15. Battery life is a significant issue. On a mere 3-hour flight, I couldn't use it throughout (even with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth off and the battery set to power-saving mode). Forget about running demanding applications like Lightroom or Photoshop on battery power - it's futile. I'm left wondering if I should have just bought a desktop instead. Another frustrating aspect is the FULL PERFORMANCE MODE. Despite claims, it never reaches, let alone exceeds, 4GHz. ASUS insists this is normal, but it's hard to accept. (See the screen shot I have uploaded) The one redeeming feature is the OLED display, which truly delivers stunning visuals and color accuracy. However, this isn't enough to overshadow the numerous drawbacks. Regrettably, I cannot recommend this model. I hope ASUS acknowledges and rectifies these issues in their future designs. The color is beautiful, but it's plastic (fingerprints); the space bar does not work right, necessitating lots of backspacing or rewriting; runs hot; and even on the brightest backlit setting, the keyboard is so dim so it has to be used in a lit room. I rarely use it.
