  • Still Fantastic for Casual Gaming 4 Years Later
Style: 12GB RAM | 512GB SSD Capacity: Ryzen 7 7735HS | RX 7700S
I bought this laptop on sale for about $600 in 2020, for the purpose of being able to run more powerful games without having to invest in a more expensive device specifically advertised as a "gaming laptop", or a bulkier desktop setup. I did the research on the specs I needed, and this one looked perfect for me personally. Today, it still runs games like Ark, Skyrim, 7 Days to Die, The Sims 4, and Baldur's Gate 3 very well. There is minimally increased lag when first starting up a large game like BG3, compared to 4 years ago, but it pretty quickly gets up to speed. After a full shutdown, it still powers back up and is ready to use in nearly the blink of an eye. I currently have 8 games installed (not including Ark - the size of that is monstrous), as well as programs like Unity, RPG Maker MV, Blender, Sony ACID Music Studio, and OBS Studio (all of which also run perfectly well), and innumerable documents, pictures, and videos, and still have 123 GB free on this device. I cannot speak to the battery life, as I only ever use it plugged in and have no reason to rely on battery. I will say, it does tend to overheat when running more demanding games IF it's in direct contact with a solid surface. I finally thought to buy a $20-ish metal, slightly-elevated laptop stand with holes for aeration 1-2 years ago, and suddenly it no longer gets hot to the touch at all, now that the hot air isn't getting trapped and directly heating up the surface beneath it. Therefore, I HIGHLY recommend doing the same to extend the laptop's life even further (and avoid fire hazards depending on your surface). You don't need any external fans or fancy cooling materials - literally just elevate the laptop and give it room to breathe, just like any other :) Overall, this laptop is perfect for the slightly-more-than-casual gamer and creative person, and if I knew it would still be working this well 4 years later, I absolutely still would have paid $800+ for it if it hadn't been on sale at the time. Here's to (hopefully) a good number more years of quality gaming and creation on this laptop! ... show more

  • Great Laptop for the price, I think you'll be pretty satisfied
Style: 12GB RAM | 512GB SSD Capacity: Ryzen 7 7735HS | RX 7700S
I've had this computer for just a couple of days so far and I can say it's pretty great so far. It's slim and lightweight. Great processing power and great graphics. Runs low end games relatively well, but do note it's not a gaming computer if that's what your looking for. The only thing I will say is I'm not a fan of the integrated battery, and if you do play your games on it or something else pretty power intensive it will drain the battery insanely fast, but it charges fast too. I'd recommend keeping it plugged in if you decide to run a game, but all other activities--searching the web, typing documents, etc--it's totally fine. I'd definitely recommend it. ... show more

  • Works really fast.
Style: 12GB RAM | 512GB SSD Capacity: Ryzen 7 5800HS
No complaints about the laptop so far it works great, the one thing I will say is whoever mandated it be windows 11 should be fired, it's a horrible system that makes everything difficult.

  • good for the price
Style: 32GB RAM | 1TB SSD Capacity: Ryzen 7 7735HS | RX 7700S
good laptop for the price. as expected, battery life is abysmal, so if you need something for portable productivity, buy something else. otherwise, whatever place you find yourself doing work in better have AC power, and be prepared to carry around a cinder-block of a power brick, as with any gaming laptop. also you need to be aware of how loud the fans are on this thing: if you do anything with moving pictures, then people are going to wonder why it sounds like there's a cargo plane prepping for takeoff in the room but it works. performance is adequate. build quality is solid. installing a second SSD was unexpectedly simple. keyboard is a typical laptop keyboard. i appreciate that there are dedicated keys for volume up and volume down. overall recommended if you're looking for "pretty good" and not "great"--you'll be spending well over 2K for anything drastically better. ... show more

  • Great Computer, but Windows 11 sucks.
Style: 12GB RAM | 512GB SSD Capacity: Ryzen 7 5800HS
I love the computer, my first new one in six years. However, Windows 11 is much too controlling. At first, it restricts you to only using MS software for anything. Had to call MS to get that restriction lifted. That was easy, but not obvious. Then they had other restrictions on old drivers which impacted my specific use of the computer. All this under the heading of protecting the user - from themselves, I assume. Had to get software specialist involved for that. Windows 11 had a long set up. They no longer use a 'password,' but a 'pin' which is, of course, is a password- stupid. Windows 10 was much friendlier, and the 'improvements' MS made to Windows 11 were not noteworthy- More confusing to Windows 10 users than helpful. As for the computer itself, I love it. It is fast and once Windows 11 was sidestepped, it does everything I need. ... show more

  • Performance for Money
Style: 12GB RAM | 512GB SSD Capacity: Ryzen 7 7735HS | RX 7700S
I was getting a laptop for college and I needed something that I would be able to do CAD on (at least a moderate amount with decent performance) and all other laptops in this range did not offer nearly the specs this one did. The ryzen cpu, and 8gigs (technically 6 since 2 are dedicated to the iGPU) are all fast and having the gtx 1050 for dedicated graphics perfectly fits my needs. Also, it comes with a 512gb SSD, something no other laptop in the price range offered. The catch all to all of these is that the battery is pretty bad. The only way for the system to use the dedicated graphics card is if it is plugged in, at least if you want to use it for more than an hour. However, using it in low power mode off the charger for basic things like web browsing, studying, and watching Youtube the battery lasts several hours. The charger itself isn't too big either so it is not a pain to carry around. I recommend this if you are looking for performance per dollar and don't mind carrying around your charger. ... show more

  • The item came with dead pixels and now after a month it is completely unresponsive.
Style: 12GB RAM | 512GB SSD Capacity: Ryzen 7 5800HS
The media could not be loaded. I bought the laptop and it came damaged. It had dead pixels all over the screen. I got a partial refund from the supplier. About 3 weeks later, the laptop is not completely unresponsive. The supplier refuses to answer me to give me a full refund on the item.
