  • Good desktop computer
ASUS seems to be a good brand as this is my 4th ASUS for my business. Works good and lasts 5 years or more.

  • Love the small size.
I've had ASUS computers for years. This one is even smaller than the last one I bought and fits nicely on the desk.

  • Average pre-built.
First of all it does NOT have Intel UHD 770 graphics. At least mine didn't. It's 730 graphics. I did several upgrades on it increasing the RAM to 32, the main NVME SSD to 2TB and added a 2nd 2TB NVME SSD. I have a mechanical 4TB hard drive with a lot of digital media (movies and TV shows). It was very difficult to install as the front has to be removed and they didn't make this one to come off easily. But I got it done. There's supposed to be 4 SATA connections but they face the wrong way and are EXTREMELY hard to plug anything into as you cannot see them. Why would they put them on the board this way? My experience with SATA is they're all facing up. It does have pretty good air flow with a rear fan and power supply fan. It is fairly compact but that just added to the difficulty of doing ANYTHING inside. There are only 4 USB connections on the back. Not enough for me to plug in both mouse and keyboard, printer, webcam, UPS monitor, and my external Blu-Ray reader/writer. I kinda hate the built in DVD/RW slimline one that sits sideways. You push the button to open it and it doesn't pop out (it's like it's stuck closed). You can open it using a flat head screwdriver by prying it out after pushing the button. I know most consider these unnecessary but I use them to burn DVD's. Initially I had an issue waking the computer in the morning but their Acer software recommended a BIOS upgrade and it hasn't happened since. I have had a consistent problem with the computer locking up. As your browsing a site all of a sudden the mouse doesn't move and none of the keys respond. You have to turn off and on. I've run repair commands, made sure drivers and software is up to date. It has been happening less and less but it still happens. Not happy about that. I'm not into benchmarking. That's mainly for gamers and I'm really not one. It's just something people do to satisfy their ego anyway. Everything is limited by your internet connection, speed of your drives, etc. All I can tell you is it's 100% faster than my 11 year old Dell XPS 8500 that I replaced (and it was still working with an on-board mSATA of 1TB, 32GB of DDR3 and it ran Windows 11 pretty well despite not meeting any of the system requirements by Microsoft. Happy so far. I'll update when/if I'm not. Again, it you're looking for something to surf the web, do business tasks, basic graphics and video editing, watch online video and listen to music this is a pretty good machine. You'll pay 3 times as much for a machine that will play most of today's graphics intensive games. Oh, this won't be a news flash but the included mouse and keyboard are garbage. I don't think most will expect otherwise. Okay, the mouse wasn't terrible but I really hated the keyboard. If it would stop the locking up crap I'd update the rating to 5 stars. I have disabled the slimline DVD and am using my old DVD burner as a USB device. I've considered replacing the case so I can have it inside and so I can get to the hard drive easier and the SATA ports. But I probably won't. I tried contacting ASUS support twice about the locking up issue. They didn't respond either time. So don't buy if you need support because there isn't any. ... show more

  • Perfect Replacement for an Older Unit
I purchased this unit as a replacement for an older Asus desktop unit that was getting along in years. I am not disappointed. The old computer had a nice video card and power supply, which was much better than the stock unit. It was easy to swap the new power supply and add the heavier duty one. It was also easy to install my better video card. Removing the front cover of this unit proved to be a challenge, as that was necessary to install an older hard drive. However, I was eventually able to do it, and all is well. Although laptop computers are currently the most popular models for most people, I found for the price, availability and reputation, this was the best unit for me. ... show more

  • Small case makes adding storage ridiculously difficult - SATA ports impossible to access
I purchased this computer for my home office with the intention of adding two ssd drives from my old computer to this one. I planned on leaving the NVME m.2 drive for the operating system and programs, while using the SSD drives for my files. Although the computer is advertised as having 4 SATA ports, they are stacked in twos on their sides, with the port opening right next to and facing the inside of the case. This functionally renders two of the ports completely inaccessible. What the heck! These ports are so easy to access when they face up from the motherboard, the way every other computer I have had is designed. Getting the SATA cables connected to this motherboard is ridiculously hard and took me over 1/2 hour because they are so poorly placed. I was only able to connect the two ssd drives by not using the SATA port allocated for the dvd drive, rendering it useless. Such a shame this was not thought out better. I have never had this much trouble adding a drive. Clearly, this computer is not designed to be opened/upgraded. Oh, and by the way, you have to take off the side and front cover and unscrew the bracket for the ssd drives to install the drives -- just a needless headache. I have a really old HP computer that does not even require screws but has tabs you can flip open to open the case or to install components. This design is a step backward. I can see that installing more RAM will be a chore because the case is so tight. C'mon Asus, do better!! Apart from the above issues, the computer is fast and runs well, and comes with a minimum of bloatware. It's perfect if you never intend to open the case. ... show more
