I've been a huge fan of the Asus Zephyrus line ever since it was announced. From their first iteration to now, I think Asus has finally nailed the Zephyrus laptop with this unit and it's a must-buy for anyone in the price range. The keyboard is phenomenal, full stop. The keys are responsive and fast, clicky without being loud. I can feel like I can really fly on this machine. It stays dead silent and cool in discrete mode, which is great for me -- I do a ton of writing and a hot laptop is unacceptable. I thought moving to a 1080p screen would be a disappointment after my last laptop had a 4k screen but the refresh rate is totally worth the trade-off. Everything just moves so SMOOTHLY. You can really feel it in games. G-sync / Freesync is a must have feature for any gamer, and it performs here to expectation In gaming mode this thing absolutely cranks. I have a high standard for graphics and performance and I can safely tell you the RTX 2070 is an absolute beast. But every benchmark will tell you this. The fans get loud when it performs but that's 100% to be expected and as obvious as noting that water is wet. The fans do a great job cooling down the machine and the design is revolutionary. Lots of reviews will neg this beast for not having a webcam, I actually think this was a brave choice. Why mess around with a low-quality webcam no one uses when you can focus on the screen. Seems like an easy call to me. If I absolutely need a webcam and can't use my phone, I'd rather pay more for a dedicated camera that performs better. I've been hunting so long for a computer that's thin, elegant, a badass gaming beast, but also something I can truly work on. I've been disappointed by Razer, turned off by MSI, and don't consider any of the rest. I need a laptop that's professional, turns heads, and gets the job done. This laptop is it.

A very good option at the given price point, as this laptop sports a proper RTX2070, not the Max-Q, that comes with most of the laptops in this price range. More power, of course, means more heat, so this laptop gets loud under heavy load. So far haven't observed any throttling or uncomfortably toasty temperatures. The keyboard is comfortable for typing, I prefer it to that of my previous everyday driver-Dell xps15. The 240Hz screen is a marvel to look at. Got lucky,as there are no dead pixels so far,as well as no screenbleed. I have one minor issue, I have so far been unable to resolve. When browsing the web or doing similar non-demanding tasks, the laptop occassionally freezes (the screen and the input devices). After I unplug the power plug from the laptop and re-attach it, the laptop unfreezes and is operational again. I even did a factory reset to make sure this was not due to my poor driver choices. Having installed the drivers for the specific model from the dedicated Asus webpage, the problem still persists. Not sure, if it is the on-board graphic chip (Intel HD-630) or if it's a software issue. Apart from this relatively minor inconvenience, it is a brilliant option for a lightweight and compact on-the-go gaming and productivity work.

I am a college student studying mechanical engineering. I have been on the lookout for a laptop that would be able to replace my desktop (i5 9600k 1070ti and 32gb of RAM) for my main workload machine. I needed a laptop that would be able to out perform the desktop but at the same time be light enough to carry around to my different classes. When I first saw this laptop I thought it was too good to be true. Everything from the 9th gen core i7 (which is starting to become more mainstream in current gaming laptops) to the full non-max-q 2070. The part that really had me excited was the fact it was only 4.4 pounds. This laptop has been able to do everything I would have wanted it to do. Even with the 240 hz monitor I do choose to run an external 144hz 2K monitor through the type-c port. This laptop can run any current title game (as of the time of this review) at 2K 80fps but for FPS games you can lower those settings and I know for Overwatch (being an 3 year old game) can easily be capping at 300FPS constant. Pros: Light Fast Great build quality Great keyboard (I am using it right now) Cons: It goes without saying that gaming laptops can be a little loud, when you are in performance or turbo mode the fans to ramp up and it can get pretty loud but overall not unbearable with a headset on. Battery life is ok, I have found on normal school work I can get anywhere from 4-6 hours with screen brightness at about 50% which is enough to last me through a day at school since I am not on it all the time. Final Thoughts: Something I would recommend anyone to consider if they are wanting to get this is an extra 16GB stick of RAM, very easy to install and lots of YouTube videos to guide you through it. Lastly is grabbing a type-c 95 Watt charger, the charging brick it comes with is pretty large and will add to the total weight of both the laptop and charger so by grabbing a lighter type-c charger you will be able to keep the laptop topped off as long as the work that you are doing is not too demanding (aka gaming). Overall a great laptop for someone looking for a portable laptop with some insane power under the hood.
